I was impressed with Diggs ability to hit his first couple seasons. Then the Alabama wears off and the Dallas taint kicks in. He flat out avoided all contact the second half this season. Guy deserves to fall off the rankings.
So 59 tackles the first half of the season and 0 the second half since you say he avoided all contact.....

That's on pace for over 100 tackles, name a corner that's getting over 100 tackles in a season.

You are a good poster and typically an astute fan. You going to tell me Diggs was a banger this year? Please. Go back and watch the games again. He was Deion Sanders like. You know this.

Who is better Slay or Diggs?

In his entire career Slay has only 2 years with better tackling numbers then Diggs this past season and only by a couple tackles each year.

Diggs had 59 tackles this season, that's far from someone that can't or doesn't tackle.

His couple of misses on tackles is way overblown and seems to be the whipping boy this season.
When did we start talking about Slay?

Have we seen Diggs tackle? Yes

Was he tackling at the end of the season & into the playoffs? No.

I mean wouldn't even engage. Actively avoiding any contact whatsoever.

In the regular season, that is NOT being a team player. In the playoffs, it's downright treason.

I appreciate the fine words.

That being said, out of the top 10 corners on that list only 4 had more tackles then Diggs last year and Surtain had just 1 more. Sure Diggs had a few this season that were questionable but overall it's been way overblown

It's not just Slay, from that top 10 only 4 corners has more tackles.

You're saying he didn't tackle at the end of the season, what point exactly did he stop tackling cause 59 tackles from a corner isn't worthy of the criticism.

Diggs was 4th on the team in solo tackles. If he's trying to avoid tackling then he's not very good at it.

Maybe this rating should stand up as a hedge against undue money being surrendered at contract time?! It's likely that the Dallas Cowboys FO won't be willing to offer more than they feel Diggs is worth when negotiations take place. With that being the case, let's see if he'll be willing to tend to the tackling that he's expected to provide in the season ahead.

It seems to me that he'll be tested for proof before the team surrenders the amount that he feels he's entitled to. Otherwise, he might be well advised to settle for whatever his past performance calls for. Fair is fair, after all is said and done. I'm reasonably certain he'll be expected to bargain in good faith. Avoiding tackles surely won't ensure getting what he wants.

We all watched the same games. If you think he was just fine, you saw things differently from how a lot of us saw it.

I believe theres a huge difference between grabbing and pulling down the guy who caught a pass in front and close to you and going in for contact and making a big tackle on player you have to go after and pursue. he avoided the big hits, the runner coming at him full speed wr ,rb, or te if they and momentum he wanted no part of it.. not saying that makes him bad payer but this is what we are debating.

He missed a tackle on Kittle who is a top 5 TE in the league and is exetemely hard to take down one on one in the open field. That was embarrassing play for him but to say he can't tackle at all is hyperbolic silliness because we've seen him make sure tackles. I believe he will get better because of that. He knows that he shouldn't have ducked his head there...
I am a Diggs supporter, but he didn't miss that tackle... he avoided it.

Diggs was making Int‘s. Last year he fell off. Let’s hope he returns to form/

At this point, considering his tackling, Diggs is not in the top 15.
So stupid! That’s like saying considering his running ability Brady is a top 15 QB!

By far a CB’s most important job is defending the pass. Diggs does need to improve his effort when tackling, but with his ball skills he is a top 10 CB easy!
