He missed a tackle on Kittle who is a top 5 TE in the league and is exetemely hard to take down one on one in the open field. That was embarrassing play for him but to say he can't tackle at all is hyperbolic silliness because we've seen him make sure tackles. I believe he will get better because of that. He knows that he shouldn't have ducked his head there...
tackle ? all he had to do was run full speed into the guy and that ball is NOT caught..didnt have to lead with head or shoulder nothing illegal, he literally closed his eyes and tried his best to graze not hit the player. that ball was bobbled forever and not caught a small hit from the front is a no catch. he trying to avoid ANY contact is why kittle made that huge play,. this isnt about wanting to tackle or be great tackler but avoiding any and al contact for whatever reason, not great look for payer who will demand he get paid top 5.. well maybe its contract year and we were thin at corner and he not wanting to risk injury, maybe.. but for sure thats bad TEAM ball.

So Deion Sanders shouldn't be considered one of the greatest corners of all time?
Deion would tackle and he certainly tackled when it mattered. He certainly wouldn't make business decisions in the playoffs.

Diggs was beyond pathetic down the stretch and it's inexcusable when it's win or go home.

I can live with a once in a lifetime talent making business decisions when it doesn't hurt the team. I'm not a fan of a "just good" player doing it in the playoffs.

Ya, Deion was just tackling guys all over the field.
Diggs tackles too in that case

I said he made business decisions. But Deion cared about winning and there is plenty of footage of him tackling and certainly when it was needed.

I'm not asking either of them to de-cleat folks. But at least engage and let your teammates get there. Or don't completely intentionally whiff in a playoff game.

Who is better Slay or Diggs?

In his entire career Slay has only 2 years with better tackling numbers then Diggs this past season and only by a couple tackles each year.

Diggs had 59 tackles this season, that's far from someone that can't or doesn't tackle.

His couple of misses on tackles is way overblown and seems to be the whipping boy this season.

Diggs is not anywhere the list of anyone I’m concerned about on this team. Y’all be tripping. I’m guessing OP is a Dakazoid trying to find a scape goat

Diggs will need to be paid soon. If he could keep playing on his current salary then I agree he's not an issue but he will soon command big money and he just isn't worth it.

I expect the Cowboys to sign him because it's the dumb thing to do.

I like Diggs but if he’s gonna be the highest paid corner in the league…..I have concerns.

I was impressed with Diggs ability to hit his first couple seasons. Then the Alabama wears off and the Dallas taint kicks in. He flat out avoided all contact the second half this season. Guy deserves to fall off the rankings.

I think it’s become business for him at this point. Maybe I can’t fault him because Brown and Lewis stay hurt…..

JJ is the only owner who would be dumb enough to sign Diggs to some outrageous contract. I assumed Diggs was going to go into his first off season and work to correct some of the issues that plagued his game, but I was totally wrong in my assumptions! It appears he did nothing to help his game with his "FETUS STYLE tackling and the YAC he continues to give up is mind boggling. Some will say QBs threw less to his side and that may be true, but when they did throw to his side Diggs looked like a completely different CB this past season when covering receivers.

But he didn't, and then he followed it up by dropping a pick that was straight in the bread basket. I like Diggs, but his play vs the niners hurt us badly. It was embarrassing watching him punk out vs Kittle and seeing Kittle dancing all over the field.

I feel like Corner is a position where a player's stay at the top doesn't last long and like RB you need to continously invest and replenish.
