While he is my least liked player on the team because of his stupid nickname and calling fans out, I do not see one player on that defense that I thought earned his pay, except maybe the guy that took a pay cut and showed most of the frustration on the sideline. Sean Lee didn't smile a lot last season and I saw him barking at players and coaches. I do not fault Lawrence for his contract, they all strike while the iron is hot and the agents know the Joneses will blink first.
Lawrence, along with Smith and some others, caught that disease, Superstar. Is he really that out of touch that he'd come up with that pathetic nickname that sounded more like padded gay jeans? That DL was and is mediocre and will be again, regardless of the coaching change, without an upgrade of personnel.
I do not think Lawrence is worth that contract but he sure as hell won't be if they don't get him some inside help. He benefitted only slightly with the best FA acquisition of Quinn because the Cowboys do not have, and haven't had, a DT that draws the doubles.
Lawrence has been pretty quiet since the Big Mike signing and I think he's going to find it a little different on this team with the coaches he's bringing in. Garrett allowed Booger to set the tone and I do not see that happening for two reasons. One, Booger will not feel the need and two, he's not the type HC you interfere with unless you want to nullify the reason he was hired in the first place. If I am Lawrence and some of the others, I'd pay close attention to that barking match with his superstar QB on the sideline. I don't think he's become kinder and gentler since that QB did him in.
