Or a lousy read by a safety allowed Austin to have such a great run after the catch.

Miles Austin faked the safety out of his jock.

A player some want to corral as simply capable of running streaks made a great play on his own after the catch following a great back shoulder pass from Tony Romo.

Why is it so hard to just say great play?

Let's wait until TO's game tomorrow.

If he stinks out the joint, I'll admit it.

Heck, i'll be surprised if he doesnt have a big game. The Bills will be doing nothing but throwing the ball the entire 2nd half against the Pats.

2 TD's and over 100 and TO will be happy regardless of outcome. Which will likely be 42-17 or so.

I'm not as interested about anyone proclaiming that the team is on its way to the Super Bowl as I am about reading the opinions of posters, who wish to continue stating or implying that Dallas' passing offense is quantifiably average or worst since Owens' departure.

:fact:

It IS worse.

If TO would have been here, Romo would have had 650 yards, 7 TDs.

So amazing the way this board splits into polar opposites after every single game.

Why can't we just look at things objectively?

Pretty much. Soon as the game is over, win or lose. People rush the boards to proclaim their superiority over other Cowboy fans. Either it's Debby Downer saying, see, I told you so. Or the other guy screaming, you are an idiot for having any questions about this team. It's pretty ridiculous.

He is the total "unquestioned" leader and now he can play without having to worry about members of his own team (T.O. and his followers) criticize him. I don't think people realize just how big of a burden was lifted off of Tony Romo's shoulder when Terrell Owens rightfully got the axe.

+1

There were a lot of people suggesting that Owens "made" this offense or "made" Romo. The early returns suggest that is just a joke.

Watched the game at probably the most awesome sports bar in the United States.... Overtime Sports Bar, North Myrtle Beach.

Lots of Cowboys fans showed up, among many other football fans. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Was unbelievable.

Winning made it even better considering I am on vacation.

The defense left something to be desired, but I do believe Wade will correct many mistakes before the second game. The D did show up a little more in the second half.

The offense sputtered a bit in the first half, then came on very strong. Loved Austin and Patrick. Screw all of you who diss on Patrick!! Screw YOU!

The Cowboys are only going to get better. Got the first game jitters, on the road no doubt, out of the way. The Dallas Cowboys will only get better as the season goes on.

I used to live in Myrtle Beach. Overtime is a fantastic place to go. You can also go to Murphy's Law....it's a Steelers bar, but if you want to people watch and see some psychotic fans, have at it. Plus the owner, Marty is usually three sheets to the wind by 11 am.

I'm still a T.O. fan, these WRs learned a lot from him.

To bad he could not learn to catch or shut his mouth from them ..... if he had .... he would still be wearing a star.

Thanks YAKUZA. Yeah, I had an unbelievable time. Even my wife loved it. I think I will stay away from that Steeler's bar. I get enough of that back home in western PA.

Are you in Myrtle? If so, I have till the end of this week. We should hook up and talk Cowboys.

What does today's game have to do with Owens being washed up?

All offseason, we've heard numbskulls proclaim that Tony Romo and this offense can't go anywhere without the big play ability that TO provided.

Now, in only 1 week, we've already been treated to as many big plays as TO made in an entire season. last year

So now is the time to denounce, once and for all, TO is a washed-up has-been who is merely a shell of his former self and merely racked up accumulative stats (while posing horrid efficiency stats) thanks to Romo, Witten and Jason Garrett endlessly (and stupidly) force feeding him the ball despite his horrid, horrid, horrid conversion rates.

Admit your error now, and you'll be absolved of mockery.

Procrastinate further, I can't promise the same immunity for Week 2.

dont understate it, first game without TO and Romo sets his personal yards mark

pfffffffffffffftttttttttttt.

Playing against a converted Tampa-2 D with obvious coverage issues isn't impressive. Do it against the Giants and I will be impressed.

Pat Crayton for 80 yards wont happen again and Roy finally showed some speed.

You take away Craytons fluke play, Roys catch and Miles play, Romo was below average with some horrid throws.

Wow. You're probably the same dude that got pissed off while your wife was giving birth. "Are you kidding me? This kid has light brown hair. Mine is dark. And he came out 15 minutes after I did, with his shoulders turned to the left. ***?"

Stop it already son!

1st game in the books. We won by a nice margin with room to improve. If you'd piss before you ate your Cheerios, you'd be better off. :D

Brady Quinn - 205 yards 1TD 1 int 1 fumble

Bold--> Right.

Meanwhile, in the upper Midwest, Brady Quinn's 205 passing yards wasn't enough to spoil Brett Favre's umpteenth unretirement party.

The Quinn Destiny Watch continues...

Absolutely nothing.

But as I stated, this season is going to be about Terrell Owens, whether people like it or not.

We either won because we got rid of the Cancer or we lost because we got rid of Terrell Owens.

I love how people talk about how crappy Tampa Bay is. Yes, Tampa Bay is a bad team, but the Cowboys did what good teams are suppose to do against bad teams and that is beat them.

It's nice to see the ball spread around to the rest of the team.

I've never been a fan of T.O since his time in San Francisco, but are you kidding me. Tampa bay was not the team Dallas faced last year. They are in complete overhaul and their defense blew plenty of calls in coverage, that's what caused the long plays, any team could of had those plays, that was more of the mistakes of the new inexperienced defense and their rookies, not the offense of the cowboys.

Dallas plays like this next week, dallas will be losing by three touchdowns, because our defense which everyone thought and said were going to lite it up this year, was horrible against a second tier team today
