Disney buying Lucasfilm, Star Wars Episode 7 movie coming in 2015!

I could see them being done well as a CGI movie, with the original actors doing the voices.

So long as it doesn't look like the god awful Clone Wars garbage.
That would be horrible. The problem with the prequels is they already use too much CGI. I'd love to see Star Wars return to the days of actually building sets and actors interacting with real objects like Lord of the Rings did.

Sweet..

I'd prefer that, but I don't think it very likely in the hands of Disney. I don't see them having the setting of the sequals take place some 30 odd years after ROTJ, which means new actors. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't be opposed to new actors really.

I'd still be down for some non-cartoony high quality CGI animation, with original actors doing voices.

Something like this, only with a much higher quality big Disney movie budget animation. Not that the movies should have anything to do with the above trailer, story wise.

They could do much worse than Clone Wars. You may think it's garbage but it's actually a very well crafted tv series - it just isn't a style that would fit a major film release.

I'd love to see Brad Bird direct a Star Wars series - He directed The Iron Giant, Ratatouille, The Incredible and more recently - Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. He's got ties to some of the writers of Clone Wars as well.

If they use the same actors, Carrie Fisher better get on a treadmill, have gastric bypass or lapband surgery or something. And FAST!!! And I may get skewered for this, but I didn't think Episode III was half bad. It was kind of cool seeing the way Anakin slowly got sucked in by the dark side. And Yoda was a baaaad little mother!!

While I did like Episode III, I didn't see anything 'slow' about the way Anakin turned to the Dark Side.

If anything, it felt rushed to me.

Rushed because Lucas felt the need to spend part I of the trilogy with 'kid Anakin', essentially wasting any chance for character development in that film.

And he spent Episodes II and III rushing through the process because of it.

Just my opinion anyway.

And this is part of the reason why I feel even better that it's now essentially out of his hands.

Here is a tidbit, but when it was told to me in the early 80's i was a kid and didnt really care.

The white uniformed cop from Barney Miller was an uncle of mines due to marriage. He "supposedly" knew people in the biz and at the time told my brothers and sisters what the prequal would be about and he also told us that the final 3 chapters were involving Luke going to the Dark Side and Leai and Hans twins rising up to defeat him......

Like I said dont know how true he was or if he was accurate, but he was correct about how they went back to a young Annikin.

Not a fan though of Disney. That is my only hang up. They have put some flat awful stuff. We shall see.

That's how I thought too but someone told me that Disney bought Marvel and I really liked the Avengers. So here is hoping...

He's pretty locked in with Marvel right now, but one guy who isn't - and is a self-professed Star Wars fan is Iron Man I and II director Jon Favreau.

I think he could do a great job with the franchise if given the chance.

And then there's always Peter Jackson...

if you had read any of the books - there are about 50 out there now going after the last movie ended till 50 years into the future. Kids of the Jedi.
They can make films like Avitar. For many years to come.

Don't want Peter Jackson, his Lord of the Rings movies were too long.

Yeah but I would love if they want to the beginning of the true Siths, with Darth Bane the one who started the Rule of Two.
