I don't think we lose two games to Washington either. Even if we split, that gives you some decent leeway elsewhere. If you lose both, you are pretty much cooked IMO.

Frankly, I think it's more likely we split with Philly and sweep Washington.

Or get swept by PHI. I agree.

With a gun to my head, I think we beat WAS here, beat PHI in the first game, but lose the division late in the year and perhaps limp into that PHI game two in week 17 with them having the East sewn up and us needing a win to get at possible WC berth. Yuck.

The Eagles could very easily **** the bed and give the Niners their first win of the year. Niners got embarrassed by the Cowboys and some level of pride will start to kick in at some point.

You are dreaming. The Eagles could lose some games, but to the 49ers--unlikely.

Highly unlikely. The 9ers gave up before the cowboys game. Dallas didn't play the same 0-6 team others did.

Every game on the schedule is a must win regardless of record or opponent.

Please. We broke their backs.

Very unlike 0-7 beats 6-1, ever. But 0-3 Giants took them to 24-27 at home, and 0-4 Chargers took them to 26-24 a week later. There's no guarantee the 9ers won't at least make a game out of it.

The losing team Sunday is, for all practical purposes, out of the race for the NFC East.

The Cowboys can't afford to be four games behind the Eagles in the win column. Philadelphia has home games against two struggling teams, the 49ers and Broncos, in the next two weeks before their bye.

Meanwhile, Dallas has two road games at Washington and Atlanta sandwiched around a home game against Kansas City.

Then, Dallas plays Philly on Nov. 19th at home with the Eagles coming off a bye. The Cowboys can not afford to be more than two games back when that game arrives.

Or kiss the East good bye.
I agree but it depends on how they lose. If it's a valiant effort, very close in which they squander a potential win in the end (which we have seen plenty of in the past) then I think we still have a chance (esp if Wentz loses his right thumb in freak hitch hiking accident). However if they are manhandled by this beat up Commander team, while being outcoached, then so long suckers and we'll be checking out until April 2018.

Yes.

If it rains so ********* hard that the field is a mess and the wind is whipping around and Wentz is having trouble throwing and the Eagles turn the ball over 6 times.

Sure. Then the 49ers can upset the Eagles.
Well, if the weather report is true, there might be 3 inches of rain coming down during the game.

They started their rookie and got rid of bowman. They gave in.

I'm an optimist and you never know what will happen as the season progresses. The Eagles lost two good players on their team for the season this past week. If the Cowboys had Sean Lee they may have won one or two of the games they lost. There are several variables that can alter the expected outcomes of games.

As I stated in another thread, I think the Cowboys are a flawed team, both in coaching and on defense, but player performance and injuries can have an even larger impact on the outcome of games.
I am. Eagles look really good. They look like a ~12-4 team, if everything stays on the same footing it's been on. It'll be tough to catch them if we don't go on another incredible run here. But I also don't think the back half of the season is going to look like the front half when it's all said and done.

They're playing with a ton of confidence ( similar to us last year ) but not sure they've punched in the mouth yet (LOL). The lost Peters (LT) will hurt for sure but may not matter in their W column

The damn Skins always manage to give us fits.

KC's a damn good team. Smith is outplaying Wentz as far as I'm concerned, and they've got multiple other playmakers on offense. Defensively, though, they're not as good. That PHI front is so damn tough, and those teams that have really good S play and a dominating down line that always give us trouble. With Hicks out, though, that opens things up for us underneath. Tougher to cover up holes at both CB and LB. As we know.

Yes the Skins HATE us and that is part of it. You can't underestimate the emotion involved and situations involved with teams.

I highly doubt that the 49ers will lose EVERY game unless they choose to. How many times do you see a team totally over achieve or underachieve and win a game they shouldn't win or lose a game they shouldn't lose. It happens almost every week.

If I was in Vegas I would bet San Fran straight up with no points against the Eagles. That one would pay really nice odds. It's a very good gamble.

I'd be more impressed with your take if you linked to a post where you said it *before* the ***-kicking.

I'll be impressed when Dallas beats a good team. They haven't done that yet. Not going to pump up my chest because they beat one of the worst teams.

Just beat the Deadskins. Can't worry about the division until they put together some kind of winning streak.

You must define your terms. To me a must win is you lose and you're out of the playoffs. That's not the case and I don't believe everyone is espousing that as the definition of a must win. It's just my definition.

If you want to win the division then you really need to win the Wash game. Until we catch up with Philly then we need to go on a win streak and hope they fall back to the pack.

So I'll say the game in Wash is very important and necessary to win to stay with Philly or even draw closer. Hoping for a 49er win is a real long shot. So we win or risk falling another game down which is bad ju ju.

I am pretty confident Philly will not go 15 and 1. Actually if we sweep them I do not think they will go 13 and 3. I think they will start to drop a few games. But you are correct, we need for Philly to let us close gap a little.
