Dallas and Philly both win out: It comes down to SOV which will just depend on how other teams play. Philly has a pretty large advantage here, but it's technically possible for it to change.

Philly and Dallas both go 2-1:
- Dallas loss is to Wash and Philly loss is to NY - then see scenario above.
- Dallas loses to Miami or Detroit and Philly loses to NY, Dallas wins by divisional record.
- Dallas loses to Miami and Philly loses to AZ - Dallas wins by conference record.
- Dallas loses to Detroit and Philly loses to AZ - Dallas wins by common opponents.
- Dallas loses to Wash and Philly loses to AZ - Philly wins by divisional record.
- Both teams finish 1-2: Dallas wins by either div, conf, or common opponents.
- Both teams finish 0-3: Dallas wins by dldivisional record.

- Both teams have ties: Ain't nobody got time for that.

Everyone good now?

Yeah unless they go 3-0 or we meltdown and go 0-3 or 1-2 we're more likely to win the division. But we do have the tougher schedule. We'll just have to see, but despite losing yesterday today has increased our chances by a lot.

If the Eagles win out (vs. Giants, vs. Cardinals, at Giants) and the Cowboys win out (at Dolphins, vs. Lions, at Commanders), both teams finish 13-4. They remain deadlocked after first four tiebreakers: head-to-head record, division record, common-game record and conference record.

Eagles would then likely own tiebreaker for strength of victory, although it's not mathematically impossible today for the Cowboys to overtake them.

Realistically, Dallas must overcome a tougher rest-of-season schedule to make up a game in the final three weeks in order to win the NFC East.

Since the Eagles lost to Seattle, Dallas can now lose to Miami and still win the Div if the Eagles lose one game to the Giants.

If both teams win out, using current records, the Eagles have a 5 game lead. Because Dallas closes the game quickly if they beat Miami and Detroit. If Detroit beats Minnesota twice the gap drops to 3 games. But what will all of the other teams do?

If cowboys and eagles win out ? Eagles win division ?
If both teams win out - Eagles would win the division based on "Strength of Victory".

"the combined record of all teams that were beaten in that schedule"

It is. Baseball does the same thing, seed by division winner
NBA begun a few years ago.

Division winners still get in regardless but seeding is by records.

Now that we basically have almost half of the NFL teams 14 of 32 in the playoffs it seems more of a need than initially when we only had 1 WC team.

I am hearing the strength of record tie breaker is not set. I mean we play two 10 win teams to finish the season. For now the Eagles have an advantage.

Well they own the tiebreaker and a 1 game lead. It’s basically 99% theirs.
Also if they drop one game to Tommy Divito's Agent and we only lose to miami or lions then we will win. Simply because we would have a better division record. Let's go GIANTS!!!!!
