I never want to see them giving him a big contract.

With him having a second back surgery and not being productive this past season you won't have to worry about that.

Oh no, this is scary for us fans, can only imagine what Demarcus is thinking. Come back strong next season, Tank.

Solution...Jabrill Peppers #28

He can play SS and be our best blitzer...bye Church...he can return kicks and punts...adios Lucky...he can play some WR/RB...adios Dunbar and he can even play QB too...adios butt fumble.

Championship!

Out of curiosity, why does the narrative here matter in terms of what we will do in free agency?

So most of the board is now slowly coming around to wanting a defensive end. Fantastic. Has zero influence on what the Cowboys will do in free agency, mind you.

As far as predictions go... I predict we are far more likely to roll with Lawrence, Tapper, Mayowa, Draft pick, Collins, Irving, Crawford, Thornton, McClain (or similar type of free agent acquisition) as our DL as opposed to nabbing some free agent coup.
Lol if we do that, then ww can expect another sorry defense

So does this mean he won't be ready in time for the season? He's going into his contract year.

If the Cowboys make one splash free agent signing this year, we know where it will be.

I'm not suggesting Jason Pierre-Paul, but isn't he the only big name potentially available? (I would prefer a few rookies myself.)

DE - JPP, Calias Campbell, Mario Addison (10 sacks for the Panthers), Jabaal Sheard

Quite a few of those guys are older than I'd like, though and several of them won't see FA.

There are also some good DT's scheduled to be UFA's, like Dontari Poe, Kawaan Short and Nick Fairley.

Isn't DeMarcus Ware a free agent? I know he is old but would't hurt either.

Fairley signed a 1 year, 5 million dollar deal last offseason.

People have spent the entire offseason *****ing about not signing a done Dwight Freeney. Not a word about Fairley. But I suppose, its not a DE, so less glamor. Though, he did have over twice as many sacks as Freeney. But we must rue Freeney.

What about Chandler Jones?

Devil is in the details. I'd sure like to hear about what's wrong...the procedure and prognosis.

That's exactly right.

I'm not immediately going to write the guy off.

Obviously he wasn't right this season. He didn't have the strength.

Have no idea how this is going to turn out. Obviously he wasn't right this season.
