Its not entirely his fault he has four catches. He has been missed a few times.

I'd be willing to bet he's dropped twice as many as he's caught.

I'd be only too happy for him to prove me wrong but I think this guy still doesn't get it.

It's not that far fetched.

After you get past Gonzo, Gates, Witten, Clark, Cooley - it's kind of a tossup, depending on personal preference. You've got guys like Winslow, Davis, Miller, Heap and Daniels...Not alot of decent TEs in the league.

You just named 10 better tight ends than Fasano.

9 TDs and 770 yards in four seasons doesn't put you in the top 10 of TEs, especially if you aren't that great of a blocker. Not even close.

I think he's developed into a pretty good blocker, as a TE.

He's not in my top 10, but I don't think it's far-fetched, and I don't think he is really far outside the top 10.

Your wasting your time. He is from New Jersey, was drafted by parcells and went to Notre Dame.

that is an exacta trio for people in this area to hate him.

Guys like Flo and Adams get on my freaking nerves, but I'm definitely surprised at some of the venom that is spewed at some of our own players sometimes. Goodness, the man made a joke and now he's garbage? I shutter thinking about the reaction people will have when he actually does something wrong...

Don't get me wrong. Flo drives me nuts, too. I hope we start working in Free, frankly, because we need to start planning for life with a new LT. But I agree with you that I can't fathom the venom in turning on players just because they've failed to meet the unrealistic expectations they set in the first place.

I make a point of never questioning other posters' fanhood, no matter how misguided it may be, but I don't understand the point of being a fan and hating most of the players and coaches year after year. It's bizarre.

Yeah, I don't think the Dolphins have the #1 rushing offense in the NFL with poor blocking from their TEs.

Kiliyn maybe your reaching a little?

Drama Queen?

whatever.

People hated fasano here for no reason. One of the funniest things is that the people that dislike fasano, used the reasoning that he wasnt a good blocker and that he didnt work hard.

THey got that from the garrett brothers.

Those same people mostly dislike the garrett brothers too.

You do the math.

Anthony fasano was disliked here, all the local radio stations spent alot of time talking about how he could possibly help the team, THey did nothing but talk about how he was from Jersey and wasnt really good but parcells only likes guys from jersey.

The only thing that bailed him out is the fans here hated parcells and carpenter more.

but as soon as fasano was traded people acted like he was some stump on a log and hindered the team, which was not true.

So its not about where he is ranked amongst the tight ends, who cares, the fact that he was a GOOD player and was a team first guy and a guy romo trusted by the way and was just shipped off.

I have no problems with martyb. I hate personal promoters, always have. He is young and very talented. He has tremendous upside, but its not like fasano was a bad fit. The only knock on the guy was that he had a bum shoulder, but its been fine since he has been in miami.

Its always been a weird thing for alot of us, why a 2nd round guy is traded for a 4th round pick after two years and then replaced with a 2nd round pick.

oh well. Maybe I am a drama queen.

I basically agree with your take on Fasano, but I recall the knock on him at the time of the trade was that he was a bit dumb and had a hard time picking up the offense.

There were about 4 or 5 things that popped up out of nowhere when he was traded that friday night before the draft.

-he was a poor blocker
-He wasnt athletic enough
-He was injury proned
-He didnt learn the offense quick enough

It was all very convenient. You could apply all of those things except for the athleticsm part to many of the players drafted here since 08.

They just chose to go in an different direction, thats fine. People shouldnt act like he is a bad player or was some liability when that is completely false though.

and I dont care what anyone says, that was a quirky way to do business trading him with another player for a 4 and then replacing him with a 2. That is just odd.

but he was from NJ and was drafted by the jersey devil, so getting rid of him had to be the right move.

"I sure hope I don't drop it."

Always go the self-deprecating route, Marty. Fans love humility from pro athletes.

Good grief. I doubt anyone on planet Earth hates Anthony Fasano. He's just a JAG, that's all. He's on pace for 179 yards this season.

That's right, for the entire season.

Theebs has a good point, though. This is the second TE who supposedly can't get his assignments right. Maybe the problem isn't with the players, but with the system being too complicated. I've thought that all along, anyway. It goes right along with all the confusion we have before the snap and having to use timeouts because we can't get lined up.

It's like watching the second coming of the Joe Gibbs offense - except this time we're on the wrong side of the humor.

Why is Dallas pimping a scrub???

The dude has 4 catches on the year and he has his own freaking radio show???

What the hell????

Thank Jerry Jones.

He even had Bennett in a local Papa John's commercial.

He's marketable even if he really is an overblown imbecile.

I'll take Bennett over Fasano. I don't recall Fasano being as good at blocking.

That is the only saving grace with Bennett's game right now. He is performing quite well as a blocker. Other than that, he's underperforming and overpromoting.

It would be best for him to lay low for a while until he starts producing before he starts making wisecracks about the QB not getting him the ball. Joke or not, everyone is hypersensitive about Romo. That kind of comment just isn't necessary. Or really all that much of a knee-slapper.
