Great.

Now we are going to have a ten page discussion on Parcells.

Nonsense.

I just think even if Fasano was NFL-ready, there's no way we could have noticed it last year. Even when he managed to get out on the field for a play - he's still behind Owens, Glenn, Witten, Barber - i think we had him out there in some of our 4-5 wide sets where we'd flank out a RB - tough to get looks with all those guys on the field with you as a rookie.

I still think we can do some cool things with him and Witten on the field at the same time.

It's clear that our run game was better when we ran that 2-TE offense, instead of our switch to 3-WR and lead fullback after we sat Bledsoe down. Maybe just coincidence.

Also, set your posts per page to 40. It has to be an EPIC thread to make ten pages, then. I'm only on 2 for this thread.

Wow a rookie QB struggling in early June what a shocker:eek:

What the heck did the Pats wait a whole year and an injury before they started Brady. I mean he is a Super Bowl MVP that means he had to look like Joe Montana his 1st ever Mini Camp and OTA's.

I don't think many of us care about Quinn's long-term future. As long as he and the Browns both absolutely reak this season, we'll be happy about that top-five (No. 1?) draft pick.

:laugh2: Yes we gotta get something for our troubles.

However you know that if he does turn into a HOF type of QB there will always be a big number of people ragging about how we passed on the guy even if Romo Turns out to have a similar career.

yep - i agree that i/we all want him to tank this year. after that i really don't care. he's not a cowboy but that doesn't mean i have to wish him a bad career.

then again, i will get tired of the "wah" crowd that will whine and moan if he turns out good and romo does also, or worse, romo doesn't do as well. (heaven forbid!)

something about "rue'ing the day" will rain all over the forums.

I'll never get that whole line of thinking. The only time that's meaningful is if you draft one player over another at the same position, when both are ranked about the same. Had the Colts drafted Ryan Leaf instead of Peyton Manning in 1998, they could use that argument. The Lions could use it for picking Charles Rogers over Andre Johnson, the Browns for picking Tim Couch over Donovan McNabb, etc. But second-guessing every single good/great player you've passed on is a waste of time -- you probably could include the majority of Hall of Famers and Pro Bowl players in that list.

What's even more mystifying is that people forget that the Browns did indeed pass up on Quinn. It's like people ripping on other teams for not drafting Tom Brady (they usually rip the Niners), the fact is that the Patriots passed up on Brady as well, and just happened to finally pick him in the 6th round.

Why do they usually rip the 49ers?

As many have said a thousand times before, you can't truly judge a draft until 3-4 years down the road.

Why did this thread go on after this?

I believe the draft-day trade with the Browns was the best move of Jerry's GM tenure for three reasons:

1) Brady Quinn won't be a franchise quarterback.

2) The Browns will be awful this season, meaning the Cowboys will get a top-five pick (Arkansas RB Darren McFadden?).

3) Well, the list of Jerry's genius personnel moves isn't exactly long.

John Clayton's ESPN.com story about Quinn adds ammo for my first two points. He echoes all the reports coming out of Cleveland about Quinn's inaccuracy in minicamp, but Clayton writes that you can't put all the blame on Quinn. You see, the Browns' receivers stink and are a bad fit for the new offensive scheme Cleveland is installing.

Clayton also speculates that coach Romeo Crennel could get axed before the Browns' Week 7 bye.

But, hey, let's look on the bright side for the Browns. Quinn might hold out during training camp, but he's "more than happy to be here."

Yeah sure, Except the browns wr are not terrible and do not stink.

This guy sucks. It stinks that he runs the blog so many of us will be reading when camp starts in a month.

exactly. someone will bring it up because they think it's new to them or they have a new angle when truth be told, 90% of the forum is sick of it.
