Ok, I've kept quiet on the TO subject for long enough but some of you really need to wake up. If the players directly involved in the locker room are 90% saying TO wasn't the problem, HELLO!, what is that telling you? The first thing you guys want to say about Canty is, "He's a bum, glad we got rid of him" well if that's your line of thinking, then theres a lot more players that need to be shown the door. That "bum" was with these players day in and day and out and I trust his opinion over anybody working across the country writing blogs on the internet and telling the rest of the world that TO was the problem. If baffles me that the mediots continuously say TO was the locker room cancer, yet the actual locker room say that isn't the case and most seem to have an issue with Romo.

One thing that does jump out is the "No comment" about Romo. it seems like the majority believe that Romo is not the player the rest of the world think he is, and like I said, these guys should know as they were with him nearly every day and played with him on Sunday.

A lot of it has to do with him trying to fit in.

Another part of it is im sure the defense is glad that the media blames everything on Romo when Dallas loses but the majority of Romo's "chokes" have come when the defense just gives up points like its nothing.

Our defense has let us down a lot more than Romo has.

you can see why many on D would take Mr-Stale-Popcorn's side.

* they never were in the huddle with him
* rarely in meetings with him
* saw his "TDs" & useless stats as being really important
* saw TO as picked on by media, saw Tony as the apple of the media's eye (favored kid).
* most on our D are not rocket-scientists or critical tinkers
* TO went out of his way to favor these D players to bolster his "side".

NOT A TEAM PLAYER.

Just add to this, this is essentially what ware said in january when he was on with laufenberg. He said I never had to work with him personally, not in film sessions or meetings etc...

This is now newman, canty and a few others saying stuff like this about romo. I am starting to think corby had really good info back in january when he said on air that he was told by someone in the organization the team has some racial issues. It would seem this might be true.

Everyone goes after romo, but he knew exactly what he was doing when he said no comment.

I hope big slams him on his back on the first play.

To Couldnt Run Routes...bad Pass Receiver, Gave Up On Plays Too Early...got Out Of His Game Early If Didnt Get The Ball...things Roy Williams Will Not Do...roy Williams Is The Real Deal. You Will All See, He Didnt Get 1300 Yards By Accident...

Dude, get a clue. There's nothing wrong with supporting RW, but this post is absolute blind homerism at it's worst.

And actually, if you compare that "1300 yards" to the rest of his career, it does appear that he got that 1300 yards by accident. He hasn't sniffed those numbers in any other season of his career. In fact the last time T.O. put up the meager TD numbers that Roy averages on a yearly basis, he played a grand total of 7 games.

We ALL hope Roy does well, but hittin the crack pipe and running up the homer flag on a message board does not turn Roy Williams into a WR that produces like T.O. It doesn't matter how you type it up.

what the heck is he saying this for?

So much for missing canty. You think you know people, guess not.

I hope gurode and big kick the everloving crap out of him.

I cant wait to see him the second week.

edit: I just watched that. Now I hate canty. Calling out ware and romo like that. Dude is dead to me now.

I am seriously dissapointed.

Thats what im saying.

I wished him nothing but the best but out of no where he has taken on this New York Giant trash talk mentality.

Screw him.

You know hes just tryin to stir stuff up when he says those things about Ware.

Seriously, it tells you how much this player valued team togetherness and going into battle against your hated rivals.

Take a guy like Jason Taylor, for example, who has stated how he wouldn't like to play for the NYJ due to the hatred he had for them as a Dolphin.

I thought it was pretty clear from that article about his free agency that he'd have played long snapper in the Siberian Football League if they had offered one dollar more than the next guy.

And I don't begrudge these guys for wanting to maximize their income, but I don't know... He somehow seemed to be extra focused on only that aspect of it. The pandering to Parcells before FA even opened was kind of unseemly, too.

And man, theebs, I never thought I'd see that from you. :laugh2: And I'm with you, I always liked Canty. But now? I only hope he plays on the defensive left so Bigg can mash him into that brand new turf.

amen to that, that has been my rallying cry all along.

Its on the defense and it has been. The defense is where all the high draft picks are and where most of the money is. THe defensive guys are the ones that are always talked about as dominant and being called doomsday, yet they are always the ones to let teams right back in games.

I hope it turns out a good thing that there is alot of change on this defense. Because that group proved it couldnt get it done in big moments time and time again.

Also, what everson walls said about this team looking like the team in the 80s is starting to ring true, especially when you look at the numbers and see that for instance, the 85 team had 62 sacks after consecutive years of 57 sacks....and the offense was scoring a bunch of points but in the end nothing to show for it because as everson said, it was all me first.

I am afraid that is what has happened here, the majority is in it for themselves.

Amen to that. Basically trashing the QB of the team you just left and propping the troublemaker who's gone? That's out of bounds.

I dont get it. He didnt bash the QB.

If anything he answered it right.

Romo IS "overrated".
Romo IS a "good football player"

Seemed it answered correctly.

Even I am done talking about the other guy.

Its the same thing....

A player comes out and has no comment about Romo....but defends TO.....

The mass response is " He is a Turd"...."what does he know"....."he is a defensive player"

I wonder what the response would of been if.....Canty had no comment about TO and defended Romo...

Would the response be the same?

The thing is Romo is not overrated.

If anything he is underrated.

After Brady and Manning, Romo should be right there in the discussion with anyone.

The difference is Romo doesn't have a defense where he can go win games 13 to 10 like Big Ben has.

Romo has to make plays all game long. He's forced to because our defense always finds ways to give up points.

Romo is as big of a playmaker as they come at the QB position.

If the defense ever learns how to get off the field on 3rd downs and not give up back breaking plays late in games than we will be in the playoffs, Superbowls, and Romos already franchise record breaking numbers will no longer be deniable.

for me personally, I am more upset that he is just saying anything. Wait till the season starts and you do something to gloat about. Saying no comment on romo he knows is going to cause a stir and then saying tuck is better......why not say no comment?

It reeks of julius jones from last year declaring his feelings when he was in seattle. I hope it ends up the same.

Calvin Watkins E-mail News tips

Former Cowboys defensive end Chris Canty did an interview with former Ch. 11 alum Brian Custer yesterday on SNY.

Canty had some interesting things to say about his former teammates in Dallas.

For one when asked is Tony Romo overrated he said, "No comment." When pressed, he later said, "He's a good football player."

Canty also said this about Terrell Owens, "He was a scapegoat."

Custer and his crew of announcers at SNY did a nice job.

I don't think Canty is seeing it too straight.....

Yeah, good riddance to this clown. Maybe he's a fit in NYG, but he wasn't giving us the kind of play to warrant that contract. Igor's a negligible drop off at the very worst.

Tuck better then Ware :lmao2:

If we offered Ware for Tuck the Giants would take it in a heart beat, If the Giants offered Tuck for Ware we'd laugh at them for a good 5 minutes then hang up
Actually the Giants would probably be the ones to laugh. In a little while, Ware is going to be making at least as much as Tuck and Osi combined. Possibly as much as those two and Kiwi as well. For that kind of money, you can keep Ware. The Giants' DL is fine just the way it is.
