I just dont get why is it Owens vs Romo....

Whenever a question is asked about Owens......it seems automatically the next question is about Romo.

In all honesty......I dont think there was ever a big issue between Owens and Romo. Owens has said repeatedly that he has never had any issues with Romo.....and so far we havent heard a peep from Romo.

Canty had no comment about his former QB and stated like others who played with Owens on this team that Owens has been used as a scapegoat.

I know there are some posters here that have been really disappointed in Romo's play....especially late in the season......Im one myself....but I dont think the majority are Owens supporters.

That being said......personally the only problem I had about releasing Owens was the cap hit,how it makes our offense more dependant on the run and the hope RW can become that #1 WR. The Cowboys brass thought it was the right move........we just have to wait and see....

I  that this OL improves...... :)

I can relate to this post more than any, I think, I've read on this board in a while.

It's silly that you can't be critical of some of Romo's flaws without be called out for thinking he's "trash"and told to go root for another team (ridiculousness at it's finest). Or God forbid you don't post positively in a thread that boasts Romo's statistical similarity to Jesus, himself.

On the other side of the coin, if you aren't 100% on board with the release of Owens, then all of a sudden you hate the Dallas Cowboys and should suddenly align yourself with the Buffalo Bills. Utter absurdity.

The above post is about as level-headed as I've seen on these subjects in a while. Thanks, I appreciated it.

The thing is Romo is not overrated.

If anything he is underrated.

After Brady and Manning, Romo should be right there in the discussion with anyone.

The difference is Romo doesn't have a defense where he can go win games 13 to 10 like Big Ben has.

Romo has to make plays all game long. He's forced to because our defense always finds ways to give up points.

Romo is as big of a playmaker as they come at the QB position.

If the defense ever learns how to get off the field on 3rd downs and not give up back breaking plays late in games than we will be in the playoffs, Superbowls, and Romos already franchise record breaking numbers will no longer be deniable.

:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

Underrated Qb's arent picked as preaseason superbowl favorites only to fail to lead their team to the playoffs....

I did think it was a little bizarre last preseason when they asked Jaworski "Ron, who do pick to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl", and Jaworski answered "Tony Romo". I just figured Jaworski was hopped up on cold medicine or something.

TO was not a problem for the defensive players. In fact, TO was only a minor irritation to most offensive players. TO works hard and goes all out. Most players don't have a problem with that. However, he was a HUGE distraction for the team because he creates national headlines that forces the media to focus on the Cowboys. He also forces the coaches and QB to focus on him than executing a game plan.

Romo is probably a little overrated. He's a good player and I love to have him as a QB. He can get wide sometimes and needs to take less risks. I happen to agree with Canty here.

You can't compare OLB Ware to DL Tuck. Two different positions completely. How about telling the media that Tuck is way better than youself....that would be the truth. Unfortunately, this statement discredits almost everything else he says. Seriously, G men would love to have Ware over Tuck.

Please, can't compare Ware to Tuck. Ware plays DE in the nickel a lot.

Ware is the best DE and the best OLB in the game.

But, continue on......

well Tony is overrated imo.Tony is also a very good qb but he is overrated. Canty i mean he's fitting right in with the big mouth Giants. too bad Canty won't even start and barely get any playing time since he's there worst D-linemen. Justin Tuck is a very good player but he's no D-Ware. regardless of what Canty said I've hated him ever since he signed that huge contract that he didn't deserve with the hated rival NY Giants.

Canty has yet to prove he's anything more than a step above being a JAG himself.

Sounds like his sour grapes are a tad bitter.

Maybe we would've got there had the defense not packed up late in the season.

Had Romo not got hurt I don't think this defense would have EVER stepped up because I don't think they realised how bad they truly sucked.

Without Romo this team is garbage.

You put Romo on a lot of teams and they are instantly better because he can make plays.

Romo is as of this moment over rated due to his contract and lack of production and results from December on. Turnovers as well.

I kind of think the Tuck thing could very well have been somewhat tongue in cheek.

TO was both responsible and a scapegoat.

I think the players were disapointed in Romo for his coming up small last december.

Could be but if I were a defensive player, I wouldn't say a word. After letting Philly just walk all over them in the final week, no defensive player should say a thing about anyone coming up short.

And don't even get me started on the Baltimore game.

Any defensive player not named James, Ware or Ratliff should keep their mouth shut.

My best guess as to why Canty is running his mouth is that he is trying to fit in with his new team.

I never disliked Canty and thought he was a solid player but to see him come out and pile on is just a little disappointing.

There is no way that he believes himself in regards to Tuck/Ware and because of that I would take everything else he says with a nice little salt pack. His payday probably gave him a little boost in the ego department and now he's just trying to be one of the Giants.

Good luck Chris. I'm sure you'll do some good things in New York as you have a world of talent around you on that line but don't forget that you aren't nearly as good as those other guys, no matter what your wallet says.

Can't disagree here, no matter what side of the Romo fence you're on.

have a good time.

When do you think we will all this "stuff" about Owens in the locker room? You seemed real sure it was happening and that the team held their tongue because it was the "classy" thing to not diss a teammate.

When is the bomb gonna drop about how bad he was?

I think Canty played and talked like a guy who is bitter that he didn't get paid. I think he fit in very well on a team of "me-first" guys. I'm glad he's gone. While fans were ripping Marcus Spears, I always saw Canty as a guy who did less with more opportunities...

Yeah what a shmo...

Calling a guy who has never won a playoff game 'Overrated' and a 'Cancer' a scapegoat is homer blasphemy.

Sounds like you are ok with Canty, who's a Giant now, banging on the QB of the Cowboys?

Thought I'd drop in and ask what was up with this.

We were told that teammates would never tell the truth about Owens while Owens was on the team and that as long as Owens was part of the team we would only hear the truth about him from players that leave. We were told it was because the players knew he would "go off" if they did.

Now Owens is gone and Canty has no reason to fear any repercussions and yet we still hear that TO was not what most posters here made him out to be.

What a mystery. :lmao2:

How are the Bills message boards treating you?

:lmao2:

And what happened to the 'I will leave CZ forever and never come back if T.O. is cut because I am so sure he's going to be a Dallas Cowboy in 2009!!!' BS that you were spewing?

:lmao2:

You is the big L.

The only doubt about TO was staying was just rumors passed along by the media.

His release was never gonna happen and was never seriously discussed, no matter how much some hoped it would.

Hmmm...

Exactly.

And why is anyone defending Canty anyway. He's now a NY Giant.

Who cares if he says anything that sounds legit. You should still be bashing the crap out of him because it's the right thing to do as a Cowboys Fan!
