Crayton's deal could be next

Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips

You might have read or heard rumors that Patrick Crayton could sign with Miami once he becomes an unrestricted free agent. Don't lose any sleep over that, since Crayton isn't exactly a Bill Parcells fan.

Plus, odds are that Crayton will never become an unrestricted free agent. Superstar columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor mentioned earlier this week that the Cowboys are negotiating a long-term deal with Crayton's agent that would include a signing bonus of at least $5.5 million. Crayton said today that the deal would hopefully be done pretty soon.

"This is exactly where I want to be," the DeSoto native said.

Hmmm, I wonder what the length of this "long term deal" is? 4 years, 5 years?

for a 7th round pick. that aint too shabby!

I was actually hoping to find some slot receiver in the off season with a little more zip ie. quick little receiver type.....but I won't complain. We know crayton has great hands and runs good routes.....good third receiver.

As long as he doesn't get starter's money I am in favor of Crayton being here for a long time. He is a solid #3 and an OK punt returner.

I hope we get him inked up.

Ever since he caught that game winner from Vinny a few Years back his game has kept elevating.

I love how the guy plays and what he brings to our team.

So this is the extension we've been waiting for? Good enough I guess. I like Crayton but he's nothing special. Great hands, doesn't fumble punts, not much speed or wiggle. As long as it's #3 money (< $3M per year) we're good.

he's an integral part of the team who's raised his play every year, this is how you win championships

Right, as a role player he's great. You just have to pay role players role player money is all I'm saying.

This is a good deal for us if Crayton signs it, this must be what Jerry was talking about yesterday.

Yah..!!! We win!!!!

Blow loot on a 30 year old with 4.65 speed who holds the ball like a loaf of bread!

Especially when you have more important people to sign or have money for like Canty, Flo, Hamlin and the Barbarion..

Stupid move if it happens. Let him walk and let BP pay him 3 million a year
