If Terry Glenn stays healthy all year, Crayton doesn't sniff the starting lineup.

That's a given, but the fact remains that Crayton was a starter this season because Glenn was hurt. He is currently the third best WR on this team if you include Glenn in that lineup. There is no one sniffing his spot as a starter and there doesn't appear to be an easy way to improve that position unless Glenn remains healthy next season, which odds are against.

I would be willing to bet that even if Glenn doesn't retire after the playoffs and we don't cut him, you will still see Crayton start at some point next season. It just isn't likely that both Glenn and TO could go an entire season un-injured.

He would start ahead of Crayton on those same teams as well.

I know, just saying no shame in sitting behind a very, very good receiver

Yah..!!! We win!!!!

Blow loot on a 30 year old with 4.65 speed who holds the ball like a loaf of bread!

Especially when you have more important people to sign or have money for like Canty, Flo, Hamlin and the Barbarion..

Stupid move if it happens. Let him walk and let BP pay him 3 million a year

Why do people keep thinking we cant afford players. There is plenty of money for everybody. We have like 19 out of 22 starters signed with projected $18 millon left over for next year.

We can resign everybody on the freaking roster, have money left over for a pair of first rounders, and go sign a couple of free agents as well. :)

I think we should try to pick up another WR instead with more speed. Crayton isn't my type of player. Too slow, and really not a threat.

You do realize that most teams go 3,4, and sometimes 5 WR.

You do realize that you have to have at least 3 good WRs.

You do realize that Crayton has played #2 all year.

You do realize with the cap going up, cap hell is a myth now.

You do realize we can sign everyone of our FAs, and picks, and 1 or 2 UFAs.

Just Checking:)

I agree. There are soooo many available WRs out there who can bring more to the table than Crayton. They are just growing on trees.

No way a guy like Berrian takes a contract with a $5 million dollar signing bonus, he'll command more than that.

He is what he is. He is basically David Patten at 28. You don't give 5 million dollar bonuses and 15 million dollar contracts to the David Pattens of the NFL, especially when you have as good a team as we do with as many free agents coming to in the next two years.

I know you cant teach speed and if you're a slot reciever like Crayton, its not as much of an issue, but he needs to work on ways of getting open vertically cause he keeps trying to press it down field and often fails against even your below average Corner. It's not about being fast, its about creating separation. He does it consistently at a 10 yard range, but its not always gonna be 10 yards to the 1st down or goal line when he needs to make a big play. He's good, but not $25 mil good.

Star telegram reports that Crayton signed a 4 year $14 million dollar deal. Just read it on the Star telegram web page. Looks like he'll be staying. Good thing being that we don't know how good Glenn is going to be and we still need a good third receiver regardless if Glenn stays or goes next year.

I love that contract. Also, the note about Crayton not getting seperation downfield - his long this year is a 59 yard pass in the St. Louis game, and he has 7 games with a reception of 20 or more yards this season. That is the same as Bernard Berrian's long, and Berrian has 9 games with a reception of 20 or more yards - not to mention Berrian is the 1st or 2nd option on his team.

Did you even see the 59 yard pass?? It was barely past the line of scrimmage and he shook off whatever joke of a CB that was covering him and started running toward the goal line and yet T.O. managed to catch up with him rather quickly to block a defender at the goal line for an easy TD.

And of course, the ever so impartial Aikman pointed out Crayton doesnt get past alot of people and the fact that he was able to get past him let you know where he's at as a CB in the NFL.

I couldn't remember which catch it was, but now I do. And so what? Instead of speed he gives us excellent YAC ability. He got the yards whether it was short or long.

I understand and I give him credit for that, but it was one of those plays where it was a bad attempt at a tackle by the CB moreso than a great break by Crayton. He's been a little more consistent lately, but aside from that big 189 yard game, Crayton hasnt had the ability to consistently get open. I understand people who pull for him cause I do too with so many of his critical catches, but he should be able to get open a lot more than he does with T.O. and Witten constantly requiring double coverage.

IF I recall correctly.. The CB gave some weak attempt at a tackle and he ran uncontested down the field with no safety. This signing makes me want to puke.

Please name someone who is better? Not Hurd....Not Austin...The fact remains that Crayton has played as a #2 on this team and has put up #2 numbers. Crayton is 18th in the NFL for recieving TD's. That is not to bad considering the "great" Wes Welker has 8 TDs to Craytons 7 TDs. So at 17 he has put up numbers better than at least 15 teams #1's.
