I'm not a fan of Wade at all. But I honestly feel bad for the guy. If you're going to hire an in-over-his-head coach, at least give the man all the resources possible to succeed. Sure, Jerry's handed him the talent, but also a poisonous, mismatched coaching staff.

My thoughts on the whole Reeves thing was this:

I agree that it screamed "baby sitter," and made me question Wade even more. But at the same token, I viewed it as a means to help the in-over-his-head Wade Phillips and try to provide him the tools to succeed. I applauded that.

Not to mention I thought Reeves would class up the joint and fumigate some of the rats.

Instead, we lose the baby sitter, but are still left with the in-over-his-head Wade Phillips, a cancerous locker room and an odd, poisonous coaching staff. Just not good.

Obviously, this thing is rotten. Reeves, possibly, could have helped a little. But now that is not even an option.

"Jerry was very good as far as everything was concerned," Reeves said. "It was one thing that came up that I felt was important for me but not being in the contract he felt like it was important to be there and that's basically it."

Reeves would not say what that one thing was he couldn't agree to but said he respects the Cowboys and Jerry Jones and of course Wade Phillips.

Apparently Jerry wouldn't let Reeves wear the Rowdy suit at halftime.

I don't care what anybody says, this franchise is looking more and more like Oakland every day. It isn't as bad as Oakland is now, but it does resemble what Oakland was like before Oakland became even worse.

Anticipated responses:

1) Reeves was misquoted. Money was the issue.

2) Reeves is old and tired. Jerry is a genius for not letting Wade bring him aboard.

3) The evil media forced Reeves into the comment about the one thing Jerry balked at.

4) Reeves is biased because he's mad Dallas moved on without him, so his comments must be dismissed from consideration.

We will never know the truth.

Reeves' responses were satisfactorily vague to leave that open to interpretation.

But we do know what came out of Rich Dalrymple's mouth can be taken with zero credibility.

Sorry, but I believe that Reeves has more integrity than a team mouthpiece.
