so, let me get this straight your still calling me a homer?

Yes but thats not a bad thing.

I defend the Cowboys against the bashers but amongst fellow fans I am more realistic.

I am not the one who immediately after the draft believe that picks 3-7 could be starters at some point in the season. I am not thinking that our 6th round LT can start if a Flo goes down. I am realistic. I hope for gems but realize that pick might not be on the practice squad when its all said and done.

I applaud your loyality but I just personally dont look at players with such high regard until the actually do something for the team. This doesnt apply to all players on the boys or other teams , just the unknown.

I hope everyone succeds and contributes but am not quick to annoint.

The thing I find most odd about threads like these is that for some reason there is this notion that RW has to put up Owens type stats or he is a failure.

I find that really strange. Owens has never led his team to a Championship, neither has RW so the ultimate difference between the two at this point in their respective careers is stats.

Being a Cowboy fan from the very beginning of the franchise I know for a fact that the great Cowboys team were always balanced offensive teams, period.

I hope that is the strategy we incorporate this year, Every thing else tells me that is what Jerry Jones and Wade Phillips are moving toward. I hope we exploit all our RBs and receivers.

I think it is becoming more and more obvious that is the plan, Then management has a stat goal in mind for the type of production needed from RW. If he meets or exceeds those team goals will determine his success or failure. Not some imaginary competition with TOs stats.

I hope your not getting that from my posts.

My problem is the QB and Garrett. It sucks to see that Brad can throw a TD with Roy and Romo can't.

I'm not getting that from any single post, its more a tone from many posts. Three years of TOs stats got us nowhere, hey I'm ready to see these running backs we have. I see that as the way to go with this team and it appears management feels the same.

I don't see them expecting those types of numbers from a single player.

"Well he's big, not fast, not great feet. Not running great routes and really not a practice guy and practice is where you find timing."

I'm glad he's not a practice guy, because if we can get him to be a practice guy, then think of the numbers he can put up. I mean, having 54, 45, 82 and 64 catches in his first four seasons in Detroit (while only playing one complete season) should mean he can have 100 by taking practice seriously. Not having less than five touchdowns in any of those seasons should mean we should be able to get at least 10 to 12 out of him this year.

Looking at his 2008 season, the numbers he put up were an aberration. In his only full season, 2006, he had a Pro Bowl year. The question isn't really what he can do, but can we keep him healthy for a full year.

I'm ready to see them also.

You mentioned "balance" in a earlier post and i'm all for that.

It was the lack of balance in the offensive scheme that made them what they are.

No touches for Felix in the 1st Washington game was inexcusable. I still can't get over that.

me neither and I flew out to Dallas for that game. If Garrett sucks again this year than Jerry needs to get rid of him.
