DMN Blog: Ellis: Roy doesn't think defense fits him

Objection hearsay.

Why is Greg Ellis always opening his big yap?

He has been appointed as the team whiner --they elected him after many years of whining for himself ---He is shooting for a raise and a new defense for Roy

I 2nd that! Why is crybaby Ellis the goto guy when it comes to players roles and outlook on how they fit in? Wasn't it Greg who was wondering about his role not too long ago?

ellis had double digit sacks and atleast 1 forced fumble. Roy well go watch the games.

BOLD PREDICTON:

Roy Williams makes a huge comeback this year.

I think if RW had a problem with the scheme and consulted Ellis. HE shouldn't turn around and report it to the news some friend.

I would have to see the context of the whole interview but you would hope that stuff is delt with inhouse. On the other hand, Ellis is a defensive team leader. He may feel like Roy needs to stand up and face the music a bit. I mean, Roy has long been viewed as a team leader by many and maybe he thinks that it's time for Roy to be that. I don't know.

I kinda just keep going back to the draft of 02. I recall Roy saying something about not wanting to play for more then 8 years in the league or something. I don't know, maybe I'm miss remembering.

Thats going out on a limb... that limb has already fallen off the tree and killed the old Roy.

He is done.

Yhea, I do remember RW saying that as well (around 8 years).

I don't know . . . . maybe his heart isn't in the game the way it used to be.

I just hope Ellis is exaggerating a bit.

How bad is it when Greg Ellis, of all people, has to tell you to quit sulking and buy into the program? That's like Pac Man telling you he's concerned you're spending too much time at strip clubs. That's like the drummer getting kicked out of Guns and Roses because the rest of the band felt he partied too much. That's when you know you got a problem.

In any case, who's RW's competition at the SS spot anyway?

I think our depth is all at the FS position.

Not sure if we even have a viable alternative on the team right now.

If this is accurate, I'm really starting to believe that (like Fasano), perhaps Roy is laking in the mental capacity department for this game.

For a guy with that much natural talent (we saw it his first two years here, fellas) not to be able to flourish with all of the talent around him is certainly a mystery.

Perhaps Woody played a much more important role in making sure Roy understood his assignments on the field.

One thing seems apparent: this kid needs a serious attitude adjustment.

How does a SS not fit into a 3-4? I could see if he were a LB or D-Lineman, but a Safety?

:insane:

:lmao2:

I'm a big Ellis homer, as you well know Rosh, but I gotta give it up. That was pretty funny.

Both of these guys need to be gone by the end of the season.

Thats why I said after the season, it gets old listening to him whine every off season, now he is selling Roy down the river.

Great guy to have in the locker room.

Hopefully Spencer will step up and make Ellis expendable, plus this is the last year of his contract.

Sounded like you wanted them gone before the season ended in your first response, not after the season ended.
