I don't like him either......

1. he is an Aggie
2. he is way behind schedule cause coach Fran wasted his talent during his stay in College Station
3. he seems to have attitude issues

However, despite all the reasons I don't like him, he does wear the Star and will during the year......and so he is a Dallas Cowboy.....and just as I did with other players I didn't like when they became Cowboys (Deion, Newman, and Roy).....I will root for him to succeed, cause it means success for the Cowboys.
yeah i'll root for him because he wears the star. but I don't want him on the team and doubt he lasts long in Dallas.

I have thought, while watching the show, that they likely piece things together to make him look worse off than he really is. I doubt, very seriously, that Jones, or others, would say that they're impressed with him if he wasn't doing anything and was just being a class a *******.

John Garrets geeky, waffly, buzzing about your ear coaching style would drive me mad If I were Bennett

he should do what he's told. no coach should have to tell his player to buckle his freaking chin-strap 3 or 4 times when standing right in front of him.

How so? If anything, Bennett is borderline insubordinate.

not excusing Bennett...but Garrett is in his face talking speaking like Hannibal Lecter on Speed and so is a tv camera...

He should do as he is told ok...but watching Hard Knocks after reading all the blurb here I was expecting something a lot worse than what I saw.

LoL I just finished watching it, and the one on one phone call during the game, priceless. I had to stop, watch it all over again. That man would give me nightmares, no matter what I cant escape his red telephone.

Tagline: You can't escape. He will call. "mmmm...kay....do you remember what we talked about?"

I think Bennett was probably a legend in his own mind before the preseason game, but after getting humiliated back to back, seeing the video, and then getting all friends and family comments about his behavior will probably scare him straight. I'll give him 1 more week before I demand to cut losses.

Martellus Bennett is that certain type of athlete who either makes coaches like John Garrett look like geniuses or get them fired. He has all the athletic ability necessary to be a success on the professional level, but due to stubbornness, cockiness, stupidity, etc., he prevents himself from reaching his full potential.

Unfortunately, his own personal failure will be laid at the feet of the coach who's given the job to make him the best player possible. However, if he decides on his own to finally wake up and smell the coffee, he can take full credit for making Garrett look like a genius. It's his decision, but careers can be relatively short in the NFL and the clock is ticking.

If anything, they both like the camera time.

Garrett ought to grab Bennett by the facemask and yell, "Stop looking at the f-ing camera and do your job."

Bennett has had the opportunity to see himself on Hard Knocks. I wonder how he'll present himself to the cameras during the next week's episode?

Will he continue to stare at the ground when a coach is speaking to him? Will he grin at the camera when the coach's back is to him? Will he react more quickly to coaching instructions?

It's all on Bennett. We'll see.

Call me crazy, DE, but I think he gets it. At least if I'm willing to buy this PR piece written on DC.COM.

For me, it all goes back to how he does on the field. Last week, pretty apparent how bad he played. He's had a good week of practice supposedly, so we'll see if we'll get a redemption segment on HK next week.

Naw, you're not crazy. Infact, that HBO piece may be the best thing to happen to this kid. I'm sure he saw what a jerk he was being and heard it from his family, friends, and teammates. The kid has talent, maybe this will bring it out of him..

I read that same article last night and you can count me in with you, WG. Not everything you see on a TV show is real, we all know that, however, there are some that might think that Mickey Mouse is a real mouse?!!

Sure he looked bad, but for how long? Maybe 15 - 20 seconds? What about the 400-500 other hours of footgage that is not shown?

That article totally discounts (if true) what people are saying about the guy. Time will tell...

Okay, you're crazy.

I kid. I kid. :D Seriously though, I hope that he gets it. In my eyes, the young man literally bleeds talent. It's obvious to me why any GM or coach, much less Jerry Jones or Wade Phillips, would want him on their team. If he can focus on the important things 24/7, like coaching instruction, the sky's the limit for this guy.
