My goodness people calm down at least wait until training camp cuts we still need at least camp fodder

Everyone take a deep breath and relax and lets all wait until training camp and preseason and see what happens on the field if he can not get on it he will be IR or gone or he may get beat out by another player who knows.

Stop saying the next Jimmy Smith, Jimmy Smith was a big WR in College and Pros, also was a 2nd rounder. Stanback was a project QB trying to be a WR, cut him already, I see no potential or bright spot when talking about him. Pretty soon are whole WR core will all be Projects,,,,, Crayton, Hurd, Austin, Stanback all projects......RW is the only proven WR we have and I will never trust Crayton after the drop against the Giants.......

Our whole WR corps has injury history. Stanback is the worst of the bunch in that regard. I hope the rest of the guys stay healthy.

It is one thing to be a project. It is another to be a project who can't learn his new position because he can't stay healthy long enough to do it.

Isaiah Stanback, you might be playing in the NFL for somebody, but it will NOT be with the Dallas Cowboys.

Does anyone here disagree with the wisdom of Alexander? Being a project is OK but a project who can't stay healthy becomes a waste of everyone's time at some point. This training camp is his last hurrah if he does not show both health and dramatic progress. We'll see.

He's already showing he can't stay healthy.

I agree, and I fully expect him to be on this roster for training camp.

But if he doesn't impress - and get through healthy - I think he's done in Dallas.

And the Cowboys may want to look for another option to compete for that 'spot' just in case.

Well that's it then for him, have a good career, Stanback.

If we put him on IR though, then at least we have the spot open. How bad is the tear?

When i tore mine completely and flipped it it only took me 8 weeks to heal and seeing how he has the 2-3 weeks recov times i can see him back by 4-5 weeks

Or like Jenkins:eek:

Just kidding, i just couldn't resist. I'm sure he will turn out to be a fine CB, he showed some flashes last year, said play excluded.

I blame the Vikings for this.....if they would have just passed on Brian Robison, we most likely take him instead of Stanback.

Im so sick of Predator....he spends more time in the training room than the training table does

Stop getting cute.

Jerry got cute trying to draft Carter way too high.
Jerry and Parcells got cute drafting another TE (Fasano) when we needed OL
Jerry got cute trying to draft a sorry QB and turning him into a receiver.
This year, Jerry got cute drafting another Kicker when we already have 1 on the team.

Everyone wants to be a genius, just stop being cute man.

I was being very sarcastic, not really letting anything be known. I just don't think a minor surgery at this point is reason to throw hands in the air and presume him done for 2009, cut in 2009, or anything like that. It's a Meniscus tear, not an ACL.
i think youre missing the point

most people including myself arent concerned with said injury

its more so the fact that it is one of many he has sustained

its not the injury itselfs but the frequent showings he makes on the injury report. thats the problem, not the meniscus tear. i understand what youre saying but it leaves you wondering whats next? and how much longer till with this guy

Nothing shocking here. I expected him to be hurt at some point this summer. He simply got started earlier than usual this year.
Next up, Terrence Newman

I dont know why people seem to think you can only get good players in the first two rounds as if there are only 64 good players in college.
