I thought that you and I had come to a humane understanding.

You and I agreed that Pro Bowls were one gauge, but only one gauge, of player performance. I cited Pro Bowls as only one part of talking about Cooley's performance. I did not stray from a reality on which you and I agreed.

Further, I did not argue in my last post that Cooley was top five in his position in the NFL. Therefore, repeating statements that I made in another context, where the question was about top five status, is meaningless.

I thought you and I shared more mutual respect than I guess we did. I am disappointed, because this respect would have enabled us to communicate at a higher level.

Face it. Cooley is simply jealous of Witten. There is no other excuse for his idiocy. As far as Brennen goes, well, he should show he even belongs in the NFL before he starts doing crap like this. That's probably his 15 minutes of fame, if you want to call it that. He'll NEVER be anything in the league.

No. Cooley is not jealous of Witten. Cooley is just desperate for attention.

Due to your past critiquing of the importance of Pro Bowl standards concerning Cowboys players, your comments on Chris Cooley would have been better served by not mentioning him and his postseason all-star appearances within the same post. I've been amused by the number of Skins fans who are so butthurt over this Cooley/Witten issue.

Just to recap. We have two pretty good tight ends. One is a flakey, attention starved, tight short shorts wearing, one-dimesional tight end who is making stupid internet videos ridiculing a better tight end in his own division just as camp is starting. The other is widely considered the best all around tight end in the game who responds in a total class act and professional way stating he is focused on nothing but football and helping his team improve. Now, I ask the most important question: Which one would you rather have on your team? Anyone that says Cooley is a delusional homer and not even worth having a discussion with!

Really, seemed kinda idiotic to me. Look, I don't care about the video in that it was not very funny, but Witten's response smacks of an arrogant kid pouting. Really seems to re-emphasize the personality difference of the 2.

Gotta say, kudos on this. Most people will never admit they are wrong, be it they are a Skins fan or a Cowboys fan or a Bengals fan or not even a fan of the NFL. I'd like to think that I can admit I'm wrong from time to time, but don't do so enough.

I like Cooley, sort of, and think he's a very good player. I'd have no problem saying the skits were funny if they were, but they were just dumb.

I know Cooley's said pretty cool things about Wit as a person on that blog where he puts up those pictures of his own pouch, so I do think the vids were probably just meant in fun.

I applaud such a thing. Very few people, ever, will admit when they're wrong. Especially when it comes to something between rival teams. Major respect.


#1: Witten handled this perfectly. That's exactly how you have to handle this situation to keep it from becoming something really stupid.

#2: The video was stupid but anyone trying to downplay the ability of Cooley is just being silly. Cooley is a darn good TE in this league. He'd be a great player for any teams offense. I respect the heck out of the guys ability to play football.

I think he is a good guy too he just tries to hard to be over the top funny at times. It's his deal, and he enjoys it, so that's good for him but I don't think he's a bad dude or a bad player by any stretch.

I think Witten's focus is where it should be

"I mean, we've met a couple of times, if that's what you call friends," Witten said before changing the subject, clearly wanting to avoid any controversy. "He's a good player. He really is.
