Without major changes in the coaching staff and psyche of the team, we will go 6-10 in 2009.

Absolutely. This is not a team that "with a few less injuries and a little more luck" will bounce back next season and contend for a title.

This is a team whose core was exposed and is in dire need of a major change in direction or else risk, as you said, fading deep into the oblivion for years to come.

wants continuity, have romo under the same OC.

evaluating the best ways to address what they're doing. many things to do better.

Quick story on how I became a Cowboys fan. When I was 7 years old, my parents took me to the state fair here in NY. I played a game that required you to throw a single dart at a group of posters about 10 feet away. Which ever poster you hit with that dart, you won that poster. Well sure enough I hit the Dallas Cowboys poster. Right now, Im wishing I hit the women's fencing poster right next to it.


PS: I dont really remember what posters were grouped around the Cowboys one. I just added the fencing thing for a little humor.

If Wade is still the coach next year, I am simply going to take a year off as a fan.

Not giving up on them, not swapping teams or anything like that, but I just cant take it anymore.

This team will never win w/ Wade Phillips as a head coach.

I just dont know what Jerry could be looking at to think that things are going well or that something would be different next yr if everything remained status quo.

These last two losses were just pathetic, and todays loss was one of the most embarrassing disaplays of football our team has ever had.

What a horrible season, and what a horrible off-season this is shaping up to be.

Was this just a repeat of what he stated earlier this week or did he reiterate that Wade Phillips would be back after the loss tonight?

Again, this is not about Wade Phillips.

This is about:

1) Jerry Jones' ego. If he fires Wade Phillips, he will be admitting that he made the wrong choice.

2) Jerry Jones knows more than anyone that Jason Garrett is just not ready to be Head Coach. Jerry Jones is bent on making him Head Coach, he knows no decent coach would come in here with Jason Garrett as the Head Coach in waiting.

Wade Phillips coming back is a no brainer.

I totally agree. Wade's a good puppet who Jerry is comfortable with and who is good enough to at least have the Cowboys in playoff contention. Since Jerry is adamant about not losing Garrett, yet knowing Garrett isn't ready, he definitely wants to bring Wade back.

I just don't understand what he thinks is so great about Garrett in the first place that he needs Wade to keep the seat warm another year or so until he names Garrett HC.

Jerry should be trying with all he has to get someone like Cowher in here. But that would mean giving Cowher total control over the coaching staff and considerable input on personnel. So I doubt Cowher is even on Jerry's radar.

Jerry is all about winning, as long as Jerry is in total control. The ironic part is that as long as Jerry is in full control, then we aren't going to be doing any significant winning. But the fool never learns.
