Until they have a bad game or two, and then you will say they aren't playmakers anymore, right?

We need playmakers, and I don't see any.

I know it's now popular to say you don't need a great WR to win the SB, let's take Plax off the giants, they were ordinary.

Let's take Boldin and Fitzgerald off the Cards, they are trash.

Let's take Jerry Rice off the 49ers, Irvin off the Cowboys, Pearson, Stallworth, off their teams.

Holt off the Rams, I can go on and on and on. Of course, every now and then a team will get lucky without a great WR, but rarely.

Is Roy great? No one knows at this point, but based on last year with a HOF wr next to him, and a dominant WR next to him in Detroit, I doubt it.
they dnt have our wrs

This guy is not a play maker. He's a better than average DE.

A nose tackle with 8 sacks isn't a playmaker?????????????????????:confused::confused::confused::confused:

I think that Jerry was speaking the truth, because it's a pretty weak WR class. Now, I wouldn't be surprised to see us draft someone late or to bring in some UFAs, but I would be pretty surprised if we took a WR before the 5th round.

When you have Ware and a blitz happy DCoordinator, if you can't manage to at least do that, you're just average. I said he was better than average.

A 3-4 NT with that many sacks is making plays no matter who or what...

I actually like that show.

The NFL got pissed because there was too much truth in it.

If JJ thinks he is going to hit at 80% in the Draft assuming 9 players drafted, he's being very optimistic, IMO.

That would have to rate as one of our best drafts ever, IMO, since JJ bought the team. That means we have to hit on 7 of the 9 players. On the other hand, assuming we have 11 picks, and we have to hit on 7 players, the hit rate is more like 63%, which is still difficult to achieve, but obviously easier.

It's not undoable, but optimistic.

Uhhhh, you might want to go back and revisit last year's draft... seems to me they hit on better than 83 per cent of those picks... only their last pick failed to make the 53 man roster, and even Erik Walden quickly landed with another team, so really, they found NFL players with each and every pick...

If they could do that last year, why can't they do as well this time around??

Reading threads like this actually serves a useful purpose...

It helps me identify those fans who know little to nothing about the game...

This team needs another wide receiver, now that Terrell Owens is gone. Until that happens, Tony Romo is throwing to an average set of wide receivers.

He speaks the truth:

Yes, average. Mediocre. And that is the troubling thing if Jerra does not draft for WR. He knows this corps is mediocre until Austin asserts himself and he needs that blue-chip WR to be the new blood who could maybe step in by mid-season or the end of the year and wow everyone. RW is just not the Irvin or T.O. type player who can take over a game. RW is just sidekick material, trust me.

So Austin needs to step up and step up quickly and replace that very average Crayton. And buy time until the new WR is ready to contribute, maybe by the end of the year.

If the Cowboys would've just drafted a real WR 2 or 3 years ago, we might not be in this muck, but we are. It's a darned if you do, darned if you don't situation I feel. Bringing in a Torry Holt type guy stunts the growth of Miles Austin (who's in a contract year), but at the same time provides you with great insurance. On the other hand, if you believe Miles Austin is your guy and you don't bring in insurance you risk disaster especially given that Roy Williams hasn't proven anything in Dallas.
