The NFL is getting way out of hand. Its going to come crashing down around their heads if they don't make some changes. Talk is one thing, action is another. They need to get rid of these #@$@# Who are running the league.

Newman needs to call a presser and make a public apology!

Then the team can all put on skirts and have a Tupperware party. ;)

Bottom line. Newman will get his and Brady will get his. They aren't scared of some league letter.

Vintage can sing and dance around about how happy they are Newman got this letter. It doesn't change a blasted thing. At the end of the day you will see some big hitting on Kitna.

I didn't realize Vintage had such man lust for Kitna. I mean are you so worried about Kitnas safety you come out like that?

:laugh2: :laugh2: Com E Dy sister !! Com E dy !

No. You are missing the point.

Newman made comments that he should not have. Now, the refs will be paying extra attention to him. What happens if Detroit gets the benefit of a few calls?

Or God forbid Newman is involved in a play and Kitna does get injured. Even if it was unintentional, the league now has Newman going on record saying something about this sort of thing before the game. They'll come down hard on him. Maybe suspend him. Something we can ill afford since our #2 CB is already injured.

Maybe nothing happens; and I hope nothing does...

But why give the refs and the league anything more to look for or an underlying cause if something should happen?

That's why its stupid.

Good.

He brought this upon himself with these comments.

The good news is; I doubt he'll do anything now because the NFL is going to be watching him very closely. I doubt (or perhaps, hope) Newman is not dumb enough to do something anyway....but now he has a nice little letter outlining what could happen if he does attempt something.
Bellicheat got a nice little letter at the begining of the season about cheating and that didn't stop him. GET EM TNEW!!!

I think I will write a letter to the league about sweeping the Patriotgate scandle under the rug and how it undermines football. LOL

Newman just needs to go out and do his job same with Brady. I expect both men to be professionals and do just that.

Vintage I must say while most of the time you seem to be pretty smart this is not one of those moments. This is football is it not? The beauty of this sport is how rough it is, correction was.

I understand that they want players with talent to stick around because they put fans in the stands but I remember a day when how tough a person was was consider an atribute.

This sport is so watered down. Every year there are new rules added and I don't just mean the physical part of it I am also refering to the celebrations and what not.

Basicly what you and the NFL are saying is you can't hit people certin way and you have to be carefull how hard you hit them.
After you have made a good play just walk back to the bench and don't be happy at all. These are humanbeings not robots!

I can't stand the new NFL it sucks the rules suck and just everything about it sucks.
If a team doesn't want there QB hurt then put proper protection around him. You don't tone down the skills of one player because an opposing Oline isn't as talented.
I hope Tnew takes that big mouth loser out.

Then Newman needs to say" THE NFL needs to stop ESPN and other sports networks from using violent hits in the promo's Unless the NFL wants to publicly admit hypocrisy". Would be interesting.

One other thing. I think the NFL has forgot where it came from. How can we honestly put Brady and Manning up there with the likes of Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana and Roger Staubach? These QB's are nothing but pretty boys! They are just poster boys with a decent arm.

There is nothing great about todays players. They don't take big hits heck Brady don't take any hits. He rolls on the floor if he feels a gust of wind. It makes me sick to hear announcers talk about these players like they are up there with the greats.

The NFL needs to understand that the reason they are so famous is because of players like the REAL! LT. He was not held back or told not to do certin things. That is the sport america fell inlove with. Not this watered down version.

The NFL now is nothing more then a shadow of it's former self. and I have no respect for anyone who puts one of these little momma's boy QB's or any other NFL player up there with those who put their blood sweat and tears into the NFL.

If Newman or James doesn't get a hit on Kitna.....I'm gonna wait outside in the parking lot and hit him in the face with a whipped cream pie.

Newman should just say his comments were taken out of context.

Works for everyone else.

What I hope does not happen now is a Lions player taking reveng on Newman and hurting him.

Let's see the NFL take hits that players are fined for and makes a greatest hits tape....

What hurts the the league more newmans comments or a coach caught cheating.

If newman does get a suspension because of a hit, the league needs to take a hard look at it self and answer why the cheater was not suspended.

Exactly. If this had been an opponent saying this, we would use that exact word: stupid.

The NFL has become a little "orwellian" since goodell left his roost. I like most of his stances on discipline issues, but this seems a little bit of a reach. It's trash talk and nothing more. The one knock I see is that, in the past, a fine was something out of the ordinary.....now, it's almost the norm (no offense to all you fellows named Norm). Makes the league even more profitable I guess. Bring on the thought Police!
