So now you have been reduced to thinking everything is a sinister plot? Before you said it was based on history we history shows you were wrong, so now you have to stretch it out and invent new history? Come on :laugh2:
Not exactly a plot, no. Something definitely happened to his hamstring; TO's response from that point was, conscious or no, quite possible designed to enhance drama.

To suggest that when your biggest high dollar offseason aquisition leaves training camp (camp breaks on Sunday) with absolutely no more familiarity in the offense or playing his teammates than when he showed up due to a mysterious, phantom injury is absolutely no big deal is a knee jerk reaction in its own right. Either a a knee jerk apologist reaction or a knee jerk rose colored glasses reaction.

...But when it threatens the Jacksonville game, then I go from annoyed to concerned.

But now isn't the time. And right now, the panic--it is deafening.

OK, OK ... but the first time he goes right and Drew throws left or he breaks off his route and Drew throws deep in the Jax game, I want you to start a thread entitled "TO Needs Praktiss"

They cleared him for any real injury there is no tear or damage to the hamstring it is sore nothing more than that. You baby him all you want I expect the guy too get his butt on the field and do his damn job.

"I" am not babying anyone. If he needs to be out there, he'll be out there. Whatever. It's annoying, sure, but nothing to wad panties up for. He could very well have a bruise on his hamstring - which will not show up in any scans. Who knows what pushing himself out there could do? Maybe the compensation he makes for the injured area screws something else up?

It's not a big deal either way. Would it be nice to see our star receiver out there? Sure. I'm sure Panthers fans would love it, too. But it's not as huge an issue as all the chicken little's are making it out to be.

A hamstring can be a season ending injury. Is that what you want? Let him rehab and ****!

Who is saying it is "no big deal"?

It is concerning. But not to the wrist-slitting level that it has been elevated in this thread. And the "big deal" will occur with me when it is merited. Right now, it isn't merited.

I'll say this for the last time. If you've had a hamstring pull or tweak, it will bother you all year long, and your speed (if you have any) will be done. If he comes out to practice, and tweaks or pull his hamstring, his year is finished. I know for a fact.

I kind of remember Emmitt tearing his Hamstring and having electrode therapy on it and being back very soon!

My gosh, if a hamstring TWEAK is that dangerous, he really has no business running routes after practice.

And I'm sure everyone else out there practicing today is at 100%.

I for one thought Henry's "groin problem" wasn't going to affect him that much.

Boy was that wrong.

Erring on the side of caution just isn't a bad thing, IMO.

After practice, assistant coach Todd Haley threw Owens and rookie Sam Hurd passes for about 10 minutes before they continued to practice on their own for another 20 minutes

I wonder if Haley has any words of wisdon for Terrell? I also wonder if Haley is reporting back to Bill? These questions and more on the next episode of My Secret Storm.

Studying the playbook does not equal timing and cohesion which only comes from playing together. That is also true for the best WR to ever play the game as well. :D

You mean to tell me Jerry Rice didn't teach him that:eek: !!!!::rolleyes:

Have you ever had a harmstring pull or strain? Go back to page 9 and read my post towards the bottom of the page. Like I sad in that post, doing sprints like Owens does after practice when his hammy is fully warm is a method used to keep the hammy loose. Exerting too much pressure (a full practice) on the hammy too soon runs the risk of making the injury worse. Henry was rushed back too soon. He never was the same last season. Do you want Owens down the toilet for the entire season or do you want him 100%?

I'm just telling you from experience. I'm not suggesting he will miss the season, but he could be less than half of what he is normally with this type of injury.

It seems like what Owens is doing is what I should've done. You start with some short drills, and everyday you do more and more, until you go full speed for about 3 practices in a row without any soreness, and then you're ready for action.

FWIW, Galloway just said that yesterday after practice, Owens ran several 100 yard sprints at what looked like pretty much full speed. He admitted to not being an expert at such things, so he asked a couple of players if a man with an injured hamstring could do that, and the players immediately said "No" and "Hell no".

I know, I know -- Galloway is an old ugly drunk who doesn't know anything. But this just points out that if you think the other players don't notice or care about such things, you are wrong.

But hey, maybe the other players will just roll their eyes and be fine.

It also points out that convenience is a wonderful thing.

With some things, Galloway lacks any and all credibility. But when it fits your particular theory, he is completely accurate and objective.

Wrong, I like Galloway and have never said he lacks credibility. The  was sarcasm for those with the TO-colored glasses.
