hm theres a disclaimer under the poster now.

(UPDATE: Apparently, Pac Man was played here. From an email to Pro Football Talk:

"This is KAY-P contacting you on behalf of Club Nite concerning an event that was suppose to feat. Pacman Jones. We are apologizing to him and his family for the misunderstanding. We were informed by a false represenatives who lied to us saying that they could book Pacman Jones. After getting in contact with the real represenatives we discovered that Pacman Jones was not aware his name was advertised for an event and we also found out that he was not even accepting offers to host events. Again we would like to apologize to Pacman Jones, his fan and family.")

If that guy read this board he'd know Jones still had more than one fan left.

Why? Depending on who you believe, Pacman's actions either directly or indirectly ruined the life of that Vegas bouncer who will never walk again. Given that, why shouldn't someone hope Jones never gets to return to the privileged life of a pro athlete?

Because most people usually root FOR people to turn their lives around, not to flush it down the toilet.

The odds are against PacMan, I'm not denying that. That said, I hope a guy who is only 24 yrs old can somehow find redemption and become a better person.

Ok, whatever. You just keep believing that a guy on his ninth or tenth chance (dating back to high school) can change his ways. Me, I'm going to maintain my cynicism.

Like i said, skepticism is fine but you want to happen or do you not know what " I cant wait for.." means

Its one thing to be skeptical. All you have to do is look at the rap sheet and it makes sense to be skeptical but wanting someones life to be ruined isn't cool.

I know that the phrase I used implies that an event is certain or nearly so, which imo this one is.

If you guys want to root for him, fine. I'm going to hope he never plays again. Let's see if he can "make it rain" on $10.00 an hour.

most are not rooting either way. just hope he can stop the thug-hood and play well for us. that's all.

then again people are just out to be right and go NEENER NEENER later so they get their hate in quick.

if you want to root against him, fine. if the cowboys sign him and you hope he never plays, fine.

i'll hope we can keep it together to win the superbowl.

got a lot of shades of hope out there. : )

If he winds up on our roster, I will hope (pray?) that he doesn't screw up while he's a Cowboy. What can I say, I'm selfish like that.

What I won't do is start talking a lot of hypocritical nonsense about redemption and people deserving second chances when I don't believe Jones deserves any such thing.

And I can't wait until Pacman does something stupid and gets himself suspended again. Watching the folks who actually thought this clown could change squirm is going to be fun.

Yep. Just like watching the clowns that actually thought TO could change squirm. Right?

I'll see your  and I'll raise you :rolleyes: .

Owens = world class attention ***** who has never been accused of anything more serious than being a pain in the neck.

Pacman = a criminal with a rap sheet going back to high school who is currently serving the NFL's longest non-drug related suspension since the 1960's (Alex Karras/Paul Hornung).

The length of the suspension is a reflection of Goodell more than anything. Leonard Little killed someone and Jamal Lewis was incarcerated for drug trafficking and they both got lesser ssuspensions.

Pacman gets in fights. And hasnt had any issues since February of last year other than going to a strip club. All of his legal matters are resolved and hes going to counseling like hes been asked to. All he can do is continue what hes been doing.

Also he had one issue in his senior year of college. i have heard nothing of this high school stuff you keep bringing up. it seems pretty obvious to me that his grandmother died and he completely lost direction in his hime. His mother is a crackhead and his brothers seem worthless.

Calvin Hill's program is probably the best thing possilbe for PacMan in the NFL.

Can you post a link that details how the Titans didn't want him to get into wrestling? I know they didn't want him to actually fight, and put himself in danger, but he didn't do that as part of his foray into wrestling.

So if you could post a link to their statement regarding not getting involved in wrestling at all, that would be helpful.

I know this has been pointed out before, but Little and Lewis' infractions occurred under Tagliabue, not Goodell. I don't think there is any comparison.
