agreed.

I don't get it, a bad game is a bad game, we still got the W and really thats all that matters.

Roy had two bad plays all night -- three if you count an incomplete pass. One was when Shockey broke his tackle and got 2 extra yards. The other was the last TD to Burress.

There were several players who had more bad plays on the defense, including Henry, Hamlin and Reeves, although Reeves had several good plays, too.

I think some people are overreacting to this game a little bit and throwing Roy under the bus. He didn't play great, but he wasn't atrocious either. He had a few bad plays and not many impact plays.

If he comes out next week and has two interceptions, then a bunch of people will say, look he's a great player.

Roy is and will continue to be weak..all he was was a hitter and now he cant even do that right. We know that he never admits when hes wrong...dont expect it now. He couldnt lay down and cover a penny he makes me want to :blech:

No they won't.
Williams made the mistake of making enemies of a few local "journalists".

They constantly take subtle digs at his play, most of the time unfounded. National analysts look to the locals for a more in-depth understanding of each team and repeat it.

Sheeple who aren't bright enough to analyze and think for themselves start to puppet the talking heads.

Williams had a mediocre game against the Giants but it wasn't as bad as some of the "premier" safeties in the league played opening week. It wasn't as good as some others either but too many people fall into the "Madden said" category.

Roy Williams is the most overrated player on the team... Miss tackles, horrible coverage, no leadership. Need I go on?

He's not the player he once was. Even on that 4th down hit on the Giants backup QB, he didn't wrap up. He just slings his body around without using his hands. How does a player regress at this stage of his career? He should be in his prime right now. I hope he turns it around and we can all look back and laugh at these threads.

I love the media. They say something (Roy can't cover) and everyone else goes along with it. I'm not saying he can or can't. I'm just saying how easy it is to get fooled into believing the mob mentality. Goebbels must be proud.

Roy belongs in the box on 2nd and 3rd downs with a nickel backer in to defend against the pass. That is the only was he can be remotely successful this year. Our first round picks have been largely disappointing
Roy Williams- disapointing
Bobby carpenter-disappointing
Marcus Spears-disapointing
Julius Jones(2nd round traded down)- very disapointing-should have been Stephen Jackson- the entire board went nuts when we didnt draft him and we were absolutely correct
Fasano-Horrible pick
All these players are solid but none are pro bowlers

Solid picks
DeMarcus Ware- I wanted Merriman(Merriman is clearly a better player at this point) the only thing I can think of is the Cowboys knew Merriman was juicing up
Terrence Newman- Terrell Suggs is who I wanted that year but Newman is the best first round pick we have had in the past 10 years

all in all our early draft picks have been mediocre at best- lets hope its better next year with our 2 first round picks

Actually, after reading the recap of the press conference and listening to it, I don't think Wade threw anyone under the bus. Good try though DMN.

I can't decide what is worse though, the local reporters and their agendas, or the stupid fans who are led aroud like sheep without ever actually analyzing and comparing?

Or those that will defend a player even when he played poorly?

What's to analyze and compare? Roy played poorly last night. He played poorly at the end of last year.

Personally, I feel his decline started after his rookie year and has continually progressed.

I hate how if you point out any of Roy's flaws or that he has played poorly lately, you get labeled as "stupid".

It's called perspective.

I haven't found a lot of people saying that Roy played well. I didn't think he looked very good last night. But compared to everyone else on the defense, and even compared to other safeties in the league, Roy was not nearly as bad as you might like to believe.

I don't think anyone is "stupid" for pointing out legit flaws and expressing them in such a way that prompts legit conversation. All of this "He sucks!" stuff is stupid though - especially when there is no perspective.

Wade did not mean Roy, what he meant when he said "im not gonna say this player played bad" was that all players in general...hes not going to point out one single person.

Thank you...and yet another who was actually willing to listen to what was said instead of fitting in an agenda.

Oh yeah, as if you don't have your own "agenda".

Listen here Socrates, based on your comment, you sure aren't the brightest bulb in Vegas.

How do you know so much? Please explain to us what Roy's coverage responsibilities were on all the TD passes i've seen him near.

Word gets around the NFL, the talking heads pick up on it. They usually make safe assessments so they don't look foolish themselves.

Don't give me some foolish conspiracy theory that everyone is out to get Roy. If anything, they are out to get T.O., but he shuts them up with his play on the field. I want to see the same from Roy.

I hope he bring a cot into the film room and lives there for a while, trying to prove his naysayers wrong. Running from the media and not facing the music, makes him look weak.

Boyzmamacita said it best, I can accept that maybe Roy is not good in coverage, but it is everything else he used to do, that he does not do anymore that has me bewildered. He used to be one of the best tacklers on the team, now he dives for peoples legs, or trys it hit the guy really high and take him down. He hardly ever wraps up or takes the guy down at the waist. He doesn't shed blockers or avoid the blocking back to get to the QB when he blitzs. I really wondering if that rumor that he was injured a few years ago was true and now he is not playing with the same confidence and reckless abandon the way he used to.....

Roy Williams isn't even fit to be in the same conversation with Cliff Harris.

Roy is slipping badly and everyone in the league knows it.
