I've never seen a fanbase so eager to eat it's own. It's border-line amazing to me.

Sorry.

Not all of us are content playing with ourselves over his pre-December play.

Go read some other teams message boards. They aren't much different than this one when Eli, Campbell, McNabb, etc aren't playing well.

What are you talking about? I'm the biggest Romo supporter, I was just trying to crack a joke. Don't get your panties in a bunch.

[sarcasm] OMG what a choker I hate him he stinks, the fact that he didn't double-eagle 17 means he's not going to win a playoff game this year!

Why is he playing golf instead of eating, breathing, sleeping football!??

OMG who saw the camera when he looked at a blonde girl!! HIS MIND IS ELSEWHERE!

[/sarcasm]

Some people are comparing golf to football...

Yes, Romo is a bonifide choker. His failures on the green proves it all.

:lmao: :lmao:

This is a pretty good example of what I'm talking about, for future reference.

I wish they would have showed the last hole in it's entirety. I would have liked to see how Romo handled his poor tee shot.

He was at 48 points going into that hole so he made Par. But that tee shot was awful.

Here's highlights from day one and day two...

http://dcfanatic.thedallascowboyshow.com/2009/07/18/day-two-romo-highlights/

I think he can make up the 7 points.

Rhoden was 9 points better than Romo today. Fuhr was 10 better.

He has to hope Fuhr and Rhoden have a little trouble while he's coming up with some birdies here and there.

I would love to see a playoff hole between him and Rhoden for the win.

If that's a possibility.

Example of what?

a fanbase who eats its own?

I don't consider it "eating my own". I just consider it expecting a little more out of a guy. I've given Romo his due but I have also been pretty clear about wanting less turnovers.

You wanna call that "eating my own" then go ahead. Just realize that "eating my own" is no worse than dropping to my knees at the mere mention of his name. Theres a group who goes to any lengths to protect the good name of Tony Romo. They sit around and think of ways that the media has been unfair to their shining knight. They bring up names of other QBs who don't have it as bad as Tony, but should. That group is just as bad. Complacent as can be, the're just happy to watch and don't care about the results.

Not me. I expect a little more from a guy who is paid to be "the man" on the team. Turnovers and drop-offs at the end of the season don't cut it and won't cut it going forward.

Tony is a great player but is far from perfect.

I'd appreciate an example of the perfect player. I want to write Jerry Jones and tell him to acquire that guy immediately. I may even take out a billboard.

There is no perfect player. Contrary to what some believe, Tony is not an exception and I was just pointing that out.

Yah. You're eating your own, but because you want to seem cool about it, you have the courtesy to ask for a breath mint after.

The exaggerated Tony Romo hero-worship stuff must have been fun to write, but it's so far from what actually goes on that I'm not going to take the time to respond to it.

I'm on record with a number of criticisms of Tony's play going back for years on this site but it'd be tedious to bring them up in every thread where he's criticized unfairly or inaccurately.

Its unfair to say he turns the ball over too much and his play drops at the end of the season?

He's off to a good start today 7 points through 5 holes, 3 behind currently.

I don't remember anyone stating or even implying he is perfect. So basically you simply resorted to hyperbole and said nothing of real substance.

I've been sitting here watching this thing for over an hour and I'm not sure I've even seen Romo once.

Left the room a few times but I haven't caught him. Would be nice to actually see him play.

They just showed him missing a put a few minutes ago.

I was hoping to see Romo more since he is on the leaderboard.
