DMN Blog: Wade vows to change

Thats the problem with this team, Bradie James needs to shut his piehole. Everyone wants to talk with the media. He should just shut his month.

What's he saying that everyone else isn't thinking? Is Wade going to suddenly turn into Parcells overnight and think people are going to take him seriously?

Honestly, if he started yelling at me for any reason I think I'd start chuckling at the absurdity of it.

Also, if the point of keeping Mr. Try-Not-To-Be-Softy is "continuity", why are we doing so under the condition he "change"?

I don't like the fact that Bradie is the 'leader' of this defense, and is so outspoken. Him *****ing about being snubbed from the pro bowl is hilarious, he is comical in coverage. Some say he had a great year, but from where I was sitting I saw a guy that got exposed a lot.

Exactly no one is going to take him seriously....If they do..what do they do now...Run to the top and he takes care of it!!

This was my first college practice. No one pulled a hamstring. If you stretch poorly then you have no one to blame but yourself. The timed part is to make sure effort is given, not running at 4.5 speed the whole time. I am sure if college athletes can do it pro's should be able to have no problems.

It happens all of the time. It's just not worth the risk. I'm fine with hitting in practice, but running 40 40's is just asking for trouble.

I believe Wade Phillips has already lost quite a bit of the lockerroom.

Are you kidding? They love this guy. He doesn't scream at or bench anybody. He's like the permissive uncle who lets you get away with murder while your parents are out of town.

I disagree.

Players can still like a Head Coach personally but still tune him out and not take him seriously.

Wade Phillips has lost this lockerroom, not because the players don't like him but because they don't fear him and know he probably isn't going to last long.

The exact opposite happened to Bill Parcells. They feared Bill Parcells but they didn't like him.

One change that Wade needs to make is change his philosophy about the mistakes are his and not the players. The mistakes must be owned by the players if they are going to be held accountable for their play.

It looked like he gave Burnett a firm talking to after that one Philly touchdown where our defense looked like the Keystone Cops.

If he even dares to try to change his personality and become a tough disciplinarian, nobody will take him seriously in the lockerroom.

This is about Jason Garrett anyway.

It's like we share the same skin these days. Weird.

How much would Wade be able to change things anyway? It is Jerry that turns training camp into a circus.

Well, one thing that's going to come of this is no more silly talk of Super Bowl (I hope) from JJ.

I think we just need to focus on playing consistent football and winning a playoff game first.

We played terribly this past December.

With respect to Wade, I would consider making the mini-camps and TC more focused on football fundamentals (tackling, proper assignments, running correct routes, etc.).

Also, I would definitely cut Reid and hire the best ST coach I could find. Heck, that's probably worth a win or two right there.

Bradie James is right...if Wade tries to make an abrupt change in his dealings with players now, guys won't take it seriously. He'll just be looked at as an actor. A guy trying to be somebody else. I'm not sure that's what he meant, though.

I've never liked Wade...there's a reason a man reaches his age without being in demand as a head coach...but this core of players would be hard for most coaches to handle. All the former/current players of other teams were right - there's a lot of quit in these 'boys. No personnel changes=no change in team attitude.

best case scenario:

jerruh does NOT trade away our 2010 1st round pick

It is not in what the coach says but in his action. Brady may not think they will take it seriously but then it will come down to Phillips actions and as long as it is supported by Jones the player has no choice.

there are gonna be changes around here!

And then he says Stew will remain?

Yawn!

Not really.

This may be an over the top examble but it is kind of like the guy that is always the class clown. Always joking around and then all of the sudden he tries to become serious and nobody takes him seriously.

Wade Phillips has his own Coaching Style and it would be crazy for him to try to become somebody he isn't.

The Coaches, Players and Wade Phillips himself would know that this isn't him and nobody would respect him, not even himself.

Here Wade I'll judge you....YOU SUCK AS A COACH!

and....the fact that your recognize that Jerry intends to keep you even though you yourself know there are coaching problems is right down PATHETIC....

This guy would fire himself if he could...13-3 to 9-7 wow, EPIC FAIL.
