Interesting. I don't think, in fact I know he wasn't talking about changing his personality, cause he said that in the PC, but changing how he approaches things and how he reacts to things like the mental errors and the turnovers.
Exactly.

He never said he was going to do a 180 on his personality and become a drill sergeant. He just said he was going to change some things.

The hyperbole is from the local media doing their usual thing.

Wade is just trying to say the right things to stave off the public heat he is getting about the performance of his team. It's a PR things folks. They, Cowboys Managment, don't want the public opinion to swing to far and force JJ hand.

has there ever in the history of this team been a more hated coach the Phillips?
I would gladly take Campo back if it meant we got rid of this guy :bang2:

3-4 years down the road after he's completely ruined this team (like he hasn't done enough damage already) we're going to talk about the "good" old days of gailey and Campo :bang2:

Are you kidding? They love this guy. He doesn't scream at or bench anybody. He's like the permissive uncle who lets you get away with murder while your parents are out of town.

Well, he did bench Procter yesterday...it only took until week 17. :lmao:

Public opinion has already swung to the point that fans are protesting outside of valley ranch. Fans may not know what goes on inside, but those that follow the cowboys closely can read the tealeaves.

Campo could only dream of a 9-7 season. Please take your medication.

Good posts: I agree about the hatred for this fat, sack of nothing. I mean, if he just showed some FIRE. That he CARED, it would truly help IMO. I mean yeah, people got on Gailey and Campo big time: but they didn't show the disrespect and hatred like I sense that fans have for Wade. He comes off like he doesn't care: and even worse: so does his team.

I think it says more about the desperate state of the fandom than Wade Philips. It's much more pleasant to imagine that the myriad problems afflicting the team and organization can be magically resolved by a simple change of the coach, especially when the alternative diagnosis--that we have a dysfunctional organization and a roster full of overpaid mediocre players who are stupid and who lack self-motivation--will require a lot more time to remedy.

What the hell?

Hey wade, if you are going to stick, just keep on doing what your doing. If you are going to change, why even keep you?

If your going to admit that your way doesn't work, I don't care to see you try another one.

I'd rather go with someone else's way.

I don't think a single person here believes that if we simply fire Wade and replace him with Coach X all of the problems will be magically resolved.

I do think a lot of us believe that if Wade isn't fired NONE of the current problems will be magically resolved.

Phillips and Jones have set the table for a long drawn out couple of seasons.
No one will change this over night. It was heading in that direction two years ago, now we are back to square one.

Exactly no one is going to take him seriously....If they do..what do they do now...Run to the top and he takes care of it!!

I am not a great fan of Wade, been critical about his approach since last December. So I would love to see him gone especially after yesterday's humiliating debacle.

However, if Coughlin changed from flaming arsehole to a fair minded ball breaker maybe Wade can morph to a marine drill instructor. I have seen articles and fan criticsm about Jerry Jones quick switching coaches then why the uproar if he is trying to keep continuity with Wade but with approach changes.

But at the same token, I am still leery about this, because even if the zebra can change his stripes it still looks like a zebra. If the head coach didn't have the foresight, perception and experience to see this coming then how can he even fundamentally know what he is doing. Last December and early playoff exit should have been a kick in the smallberries for Wade but what does he go an do, make it even more of a Camp Cupcake this year.

To put it succinctly the players and coaches took advantage of Wade, save the few true oldschool professionals like Witten. Now it is has been reported by Spagnola of all people that there has been no hard practices such as playing in pads, not even a Saturday walktrhough. No wonder we were on our heels from the get go.

If Wade, Stewart and Garrett stay so be it, but deep down I wish we could change the key coaching staff.

What Wade says sounds good in theory. He'll remain who he is, but will change what he emphasizes and perhaps how he organizes practices and such in the name of making this a more disciplined team.

But what worries me is that it took him until the day after the season to realize that changes needed to be made. The path for this needed to start being implemented two or three months ago when it became clear this was a mistake-prone, undisciplined team. Instead, Wade yucked away at that notion, instead basking in the glory of a hard-fought win over what was a winless Cincinnati team. In the meantime, what once was a promising season was wasted due to his ignoring the evident problems.

His ability -- or inability -- to right the ship on the fly is what concerns me. Sure, what he says today sounds somewhat intelligent. But it's not exactly a reinvent-the-wheel concept. Media and fans alike have been begging for this change for nearly a full calendar year. Suddenly Wade gets it?

A season never stays entirely on course, nor does it go according to plan. How delayed Wade is in making this change only reaffirms my belief that he's not a man that can lead a team through the ups and downs of a season toward a deep playoff run.

I think Bradie's response is more indicative of the type of mentality that the organization needs to combat. Given the team's lackluster performance, you would expect a self-appointed leader like James to endorse any changes designed to improve the team. I guess that's asking too much.

You mean like how TO said he would support whatever changes the offseason brings? :D

Well choco, you are in a dilemna. You like Wade, despise Jones but Jones wants to keep Wade.

Uhh, I guess I am too. I like Jones, despise Wade but Wade wants to keep working with Jerry. :laugh2:

I don't really "despise" Jerry. I just wish he wouldn't be so stubborn about proving his decisions right, like with Pacman. And I wish he wouldn't talk so much.

I thought when Parcells quit, Wade was the best choice possible from a very limited number of candidates. And I do like his defense. But if we can get someone better, I'm all for it.

Problem with most fans is they want heads to roll with no realistic plan for a replacement.
