He repeatedly gave up inside moves.

Fuzzy, I just didn't have time to watch well. When I noticed it wasn't good. But without watching tape you just can't get a good overall picture. Drawing the conclusion of concern is as far as I can go right now.

Brad Sham said in pregame that fans don't realize that Parnell was a really good player and will be difficult to replace. I really hope Romo does not pay the price for that decision.

Early reports on him in Jacksonville have been very good. All kidding aside, he was a fine player. That money just got out of hand.

If that was an "all right" performance I would hate to be a QB when he is having a bad day.

He obviously needs more game reps, a lot more. The good thing is he should play almost all of the preseason snaps.

I would still prefer a better option to compete with him than Wetzel or Dill. One of Collins or Martin should take some snaps at OT just in case.

I'm pretty sure Martin was playing tackle last night. Or is my mind playing tricks?

The legend of Jermey "Johnson" Parnell continues to grow. What next? Killing a bar with his bare hands? Riding a whirlwind? Beating a steam engine? Owning a big blue ox?

I'm not going to pretend that I spent the entire game looking at Weems and how he was doing, but I swear every time I looked up at the screen (not literally) he was whiffing on a block or looking bad out there. He just did not look good at all to me, but it is his first game in a couple of years... hopefully it was just the rust from lack of real action the past couple of years.

I understand not giving Parnell the big money but why not try to replace him with a veteran on a 1 or 2 year deal?

Weems sucks. Green is hurt (and has been for a while). This position needs to be shored up once cuts begin.

Interesting. I assume that was RT? I was focused on LT and LG.

NFLN switched over for the first drive and over the play they listed starting positions. That's how I know Smith was out. They had Martin as RT. Then switched back to Gb game after like two plays. Didn't notice specifically Martin at RT but that is what pregame coverage indicated. Could have been a mistake.

What's it going to be then, eh?

What is anyone really expecting? He's undrafted and hasn't played in a game since 2013.

How I feel as well. But he needs to show a rapid improvement over the next few weeks. Otherwise the Cowboys better come up with an alternative.

Maybe they are willing to give Weems snaps now to see if he is worth keeping. If not, I bet they will be watching the wavier wire and might sign some in week 2.

the swing tackle doesn't have to be pro bowl quality, but he can't suck like Weems did last night. Free would be a perfect swing tackle given his moderate ability, his age and his injury history.

I think Parnell was pretty good
They didn't let him walk because of his play, they let him walk because it's hard to pay a swing tackle starter money
Money aside, if it was just about his ability he would still be here

They screwed up some of those listings. They had the starting CBs as White and Patmon, but it was actually Jones, not Patmon starting.

Yes, some here said he was a good player who just needed playing time from early on; and were ridiculed.
I hated to see him go but he was an inexpensive swing tackle while here and wanted LT money to play which is quite understandable.

We wish him well.

I still can't believe that the Cowboys spent 5M per on Doug Free. He should be getting the veteran's minimum like Nick Hayden.

Literally killed?

Don't take my work for Weems then, ........here's Bob Sturm's assessment

So, the job looks like Darrion Weems has the inside track at the present time, but to be honest, he looked like he has serious limitations in pass protection – which is the most important attribute for a swing tackle.

And yes I mean, Literally killed!

I can't agree with that. His salary is in line with a tackle who can play RT and go to the other side.
