So in a metroplex that freaked about Romo PLAYING GOLF in the offseason, does anyone really think JFF stories would be rare?

If we have to have a retread, go for Griffin, but you're still going to have tons of buzz every time he sneezes.

I'm good with Romo, Goff and Moore, thanks.

The Dallas media are going to create stories, even when there are none . I can live with the Johnny Football coverage as long as he is continues to improve on the field. RG3 would make me skip any games on TV that he would play in. He caused more problems in the Commanders locker room with his arrogant, entitled attitude than can be counted .

Troy may have known but he did not partake in it publicly. There is a big difference there. His job was not to stop what was going on. His job was to represent the Dallas Cowboys on the field and off. To be the face of the team and, as I said earlier, the NFL as a whole.

In two years, it's possible that Manziel could turn into a great Field General. It's also possible that he could continue to play his way out of the NFL. However, if you are wrong about him, there is no guarantee that we will have as good an opportunity as we do now to take a QB high. Then there is development time on a QB that will be needed in order to bring a young QB along. You are basically costing yourself a few years there. What you will see is a situation where we've lost another 4 or 5 years after Tony is gone, assuming we find a young QB at all and that's if the NFL doesn't make the decision on JF for us before that time.

I think it's a mistake for the Cowboys to bring him in but time will tell what eventually happens there.

I would prefer them to draft a QB if the best one is available with their first round pick. I don't think they will, so I had rather see Johnny with a much lower investment than see them draft some scrub QB with hopes of developing him.

I think I agree in the idea of drafting a QB. I mean, I think if the right guy is there, we could see that. If not, then find a guy in FA. I just don't think JF plus Dallas is a good idea. I think it's like pouring gas on the flame, so to speak. Any progress Manziel has made, real or perceived, could easily be undone in Dallas IMO. I actually see that as a very real possibility and that would be a real shame. It's not even the money we would spend, as much as it is the very valuable time needed to develop a QB. I personally think that you can really only develop one young QB at a time as starter. You can bring one along if he's raw but I don't think you can really develop more then one as a starting guy. Just not enough time in the season to get your Starter prepared and develop a young guy to become the eventual starter. That's really why it takes a good three years of sitting behind the guy to be ready IMO.

ABQ, this is a pivotal draft for the Cowboys. Miss on a QB that high and you end up like the Lions (Ware & Harrington), when you could have picked a premium player at another position.

I agree. QBs are hard to evaluate. Honestly, I think it has more to do with how much time you give them to sit and learn but I agree. You miss and it hurts the team long term, no question.
