Sounds like a guy who thinks he's going to another team.

That's what I got out of it too.

But, it could be very much like negotiating comments that Jerry has made.

We won't know for sure until a deal is done.

Here or elsewhere.

Oh yeah, Demarco is smart enough not to show his hand. If he acts like he's begging to come back he has no leverage. So who knows. I've just felt all year that he will be a victim of circumstance though, I knew it would be tough to get him back.

I feel like both he and Dallas are handling it well. They may part, but it would be amicably. I think they both have positions, which are probably both 100% correct.

Murray strikes me as a very intelligent person. And a young man who is keenly aware of maximizing his earning potential throughout the course of his NFL career.

Look no further than the huge number of autograph signings he takes part in, and has since his career began.

Personally, I haven't seen a rookie player participate in nearly so many, ever.

I bet Murray can make more from promotions as a Dallas Cowboy than he can in salary and promotions anywhere else. Not arguing that he should stay for less money. Just guessing.

"I don’t get butt-hurt. I don’t get my feelings hurt. I believe in myself and what I’m capable of doing and whoever it is I’m playing for next year, I know I’m going to make a huge impact."

The self-talk of a champion right there.

Not at all. Seems like a man who knows the business side. I hope Jerry and Stephen and DM's agent can find some common ground and get a deal done.

True, like I said, I read it with the thought all season that he will probably sing with someone else, so with that frame of mind it would look like farewell to me I suppose.

Murray has even kept his thoughts from his agent and family.

“I’ve thought about a lot of things I haven’t told anyone yet, not even my agent or not even my family,” Murray told ESPNDallas.com. “You can sit back and look at the pros and cons of many different situations and you think of yourself and think of your family in these situations.

"I told my agent, 'Hey, get your notes together. You talk to who you need to talk to and when the time is right ...' but for the next couple of weeks I just want to get away from everything. I don’t want to hear about it. I don’t want any phone calls saying, 'Hey, there’s this or this.'"

"Those guys know how I am as a person and I understand that business aspect. I don’t get butt-hurt. I don’t get my feelings hurt. I believe in myself and what I’m capable of doing and whoever it is I’m playing for next year, I know I’m going to make a huge impact."

Murray said he loves playing with the Cowboys, but still keeps his status wide open.

"Obviously I love playing with these guys, love playing for Jerry, love playing for Jason (Garrett)," Murray said. "He’s a helluva coach, a helluva guy. The things I’ve learned from him and (Jason Witten) in the four years I’ve been here, I’m very gracious and appreciative of it. If the chips fall that way, I’m excited and would love to come back. I don’t know what’s going to happen, so we’ll see."

There is one silver lining for Dallas.

"When it’s all said and done, no matter where I end up, 10 years, 20 years from now I definitely will consider Dallas being my home," Murray said, "and I’ll probably end up raising my family there."

I just wish there was a way to keep him.

One, love this guy's perspective and everything you hear from him outwardly. He want to put in work and be a huge team player get paid for it.

Sounds to me like they've already told him they're going to let him test the market and that they've got a limited allocation for his position, and he's going to get the data and then decide what's most important to him. And I'd bet his decision isn't purely financial, too. Though it's probably mostly financial. He's only back in Dallas if the market for him is soft, overall. And it probably won't be.

Pretty reasonable for everybody, overall.

Yep, agreed Murray seems to be a good guy off the field. He reminds me of a young Emmit Smith, good character and tough as nails. I do hope they find a way to get him re-signed.

I will disagree on the bolded section. Teams will look at him and see the numbers, all the numbers. If you were GM are you willing to give a RB like murray a huge pay day with his track record of injury, the total number of touches he got this year including playoffs. I have feeling that he may be back maybe more than Jerry initially offered but I do not see a team offering him the moon. The only team I could see doing it is the Pats because they always employ a RBBC approach.
