you guys forget, Carr was good at KC with a better DC !!
That was why dallas signed him to such a big contract.
The DC here isnt that good, so he just wasnt as good either.

Ravens filled 2 spots in secondary, in FA, one a top S so they may have a good group now, and that helps all 4 be better.

Like they say in politics. Always follow the money. This is Carr's last decent contract. He probably got 3 or 4 more million by signing with the Ravens instead of staying here. Just think, what would 3 or 4 million dollars mean in the long term. Probably means a lot. He was a good community guy in Dallas and was never a "me" guy. Kept his mouth shut and did his job. Maybe didn't do it as well as we like, but he was for the most part solid. What I do like is he always showed up week to week and played. That doesn't happen that often.

The very definition of ordinary. What a hoot he loves the Cowboys and now he always loved the Ravens. He is no big loss.

"It's true, I grew up a Cowboys fan. It was a dream come true to play for the Cowboys, defend the star for five years," Carr told BaltimoreRavens.com, "but you know, I've always had a thing in my mind, in my heart for the Ravens. The tradition here, the defense, the dominance, just the mentality. So I'm just blessed and honored just to be in this position."

oh so that's what he was defending this whole time

Do any of these guys think any of us believe anything but it was about the money? And why anyone would blame a guy to take the most he can get - crazy not to. I never hated Carr, nor do I now. Seems like a great guy off the field, and a trooper on the field. He's just not a great CB.

But I love this line:
"and followed the opponents' top receivers at times." Followed is a great word to use there!

Former Dallas cornerback Brandon Carr grew up a Cowboys fan, but the Baltimore Ravens -- his new team -- have long had a place in his heart as well, he recently revealed.
And that's just part of why he left the Cowboys in free agency to sign a deal with the Ravens that could go up to four years.

Carr is part of an offseason makeover for a Baltimore secondary that endured multiple injuries at the cornerback position in recent seasons. In addition to Carr, the Ravens signed the top safety on the market in Tony Jefferson. That pair will figure into a unit that already features standout veterans at corner in Jimmy Smith and at safety in Eric Weddle.

The idea of playing alongside those players was alluring to Carr.

"That's pretty much, like, the deciding factor," Carr said. "Nobody (was) in my ear, but just, you know, I've seen guys -- the last four years with Jefferson and Weddle, the last, what, 10-11, however many years he's played in the NFL, so I just know the type of guys you want to be around. Guys who, you watch on film, are always vocal and giving commands and out there just playing with tremendous skill, and that's just something that, mixed in with just the appreciation for defense around here, I felt like it was a good fit to come out here and get some good chemistry fast and produce as much as we can."

Carr has started all 144 regular-season games of his career -- including during the four seasons he spent in Kansas City -- which is something Baltimore clearly took note of. He has 15 interceptions, seven with the Cowboys, though just one over the last three seasons. He agreed to a pay cut last offseason amid criticism that he hadn't lived up to the five year, $50.1 million deal signed in 2012. That also marks the last time the Cowboys went all-out on a big free-agency maneuver.

But he is coming off a strong 2016, when he led Cowboys cornerbacks with 47 solo tackles and followed the opponents' top receivers at times.

"[We are getting] one of the most solid, dependable corners in football," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said of Carr.
