With our OL, I believe that YPC is not a factor. The real thing we should be looking at is burst, speed, and quickness.

Murray was barely touched before 5 yards.

Johnson and Young are talking like they have a deal in place with the Cowboys.
Wishful thinking.

Also, what caught my attention when read the actual story is that nj.com had a pre-draft "What if" story linking Mariota to the Cowboys.

You know you're reaching for click bait when you author a story about a fantasy scenario involving the Cowboys and Mariota, and you're in New Jersey, home of the Jets, Giants and Eagles. Are they THAT desperate for readers?

Does he still have his speed? Have to admit I've paid little attention to him.

He showed a few flashes last season.

I think he still has it in him somewhere.

I do believe the only reason he wants to come here is to revive his career. Especially with this O-Line.

Nice.

His running style always reminded me of Tony D's.

He certainly looks like he still "has it" in that clip.

Yep. That video surprised me. I would certainly take him on a small contact. One year prove it deal. Could help us and could resurrect his career.

Not an issue to bring him in for a tryout if he's willing to play for a minimum "show me" incentive deal only.

Yeah, I wouldn't advocate paying him much, especially considering his current circumstances. He's in no position to demand anything.

But if they're truly not going to pursue Peterson, I'd much prefer a backfield of McFadden, Johnson, Randle, and / or Williams over what we currently have.

I have never been a fan of the committee approach, but if that's what they're determined to do, I would want the best candidates for that committee.

I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in to compete some time in the rotation. I mean can he really be any less of a running back than McFadden or Dunbar?

If anyone is curious, he is 29 years old and last season was the first since his rookie year (2008) that he fell short of rushing for over 1000 yards.

No thank you. Guys at his age, especially one like CJ, are more into for the money at this stage of his career. He is much more likely to make a business decision over a young, cheap, unproven guy who will literally run through a wall to stay on the team.

A 4.3 YPC average with 150 carries last season.

He could be the Cowboys "Justin Forsett" for this season.

Chris Johnson has always been a better NFL RB than DMAC. DMAC would be unemployed right now if we didn't pick him up, same as Chris Johnson.

On the other hand, DMAC may be a better fit with us, who knows...
