What does that have to do with Goose?

Nothing, just like your post hardly had much to do with it outside of a lead in to criticize a fan base. The same people here whining were the same people last year in a 300 page thread about Adrian Peterson saying we were one player away from a Super Bowl.

Now, all of a sudden, these same people are draft gurus and FA experts? Get real.

No, you didn't discuss the article. You didn't break it down, you looked at who wrote it, you saw people agreeing with it, you took your shot. There was no substance in your post.

I don't have to "break down the article" to see that people who routinely bash Goose as a 'know nothing' hack were praising him because it was convenient

I have now explained my point at a 5th grade level do I hope you finally understand

So, you stated your initial post had to do with this thread, then you claim your intentions were to call those commenting in this thread?

There are no "rules" to free agency and even if there was, this front office has changed philosophies so many times they would have no idea which side of the rule they are on.

There is only improving your roster and not improving your roster.

Plus, ya know, if you want to have a smarmy we know better attitude that you see the PR people here having defending the team, you might want to actually have some recent success with it. We're talking about a very poorly run team. One of the least successful over 2 decades with this exact same front office. Spare me the they know better angle. They don't know better. They don't know a thing, actually.

So now Goose knows what he is talking about?

Lol at the way you guys conveniently change your tune

I usually agree with you and see what you're saying; but really, what did he say that wasn't true?

Same philosophy got us to 12-4 year before...Lots of folks on here keep forgetting we lost two of our biggest weapons to injury. We could have had a better season with them out I admitt. We all know this team has better then 4-12 talent. If you want to look at that way then our offseason has been great. Compared to 2015 starters we upgraded qb with a pro bowl veteran qb (romo) and a Top5 WR who's in his prime. I'm happy with day one. Stay the course for long run

The team did go 3-1 with Romo...which Is an abbreviated 12-4.
Yes, with a healthy Romo and Dez the whole year would have been entirely different.
The question for many is will we ever see both of them healthy all year again.

The Eagles have proven you can get out of these very bad FA signings quickly and even improve draft slot by trading them.

I didn't say Goose was wrong, my point was that people who usually dismiss him as a complete hack are suddenly holding him up as a beacon of sense when he is saying something try agree with which is disingenuous

Having said that, most good NFL teams build through a combination of draft and FA. Sometimes that means over paying for players. The question is who you pay. Our FO is a dumpster fire of incompetent people who have no context for making decisions so they are completely reactionary in their decisions. They have historically given bad contracts to over rated players only to have it blow up in their faces. So now they have over reacted as usual and tried to play it safe by just avoiding signing any difference makers at all. Both extremes are bad and the team, the product on the field and the fans suffer as a result

Other than Demarco limiting their cap last year (which carries over to this one) and counting $4m against this years' and not having a starting RB, sure, it's a great trade

Would you trade McFadden and $2m in cap for moving up in the 4th round?
