I really don't understand the fascination with JFF. He's a drunk who showed up drunk to team meetings within the last two weeks, was in Vegas partying within the last several days, has lied about his whereabouts to team officials.

He is a no-talent-a__-clown who never had a playbook in HS or college and only makes plays when scrambling.

For all that is good and sacred, if we give up anything for him, Jerry should be committed. I realize he and Jerry would be great party buddies, but Manziel is sick with affluenza and alcoholism. Trusting him with any role with the team would be insane.

Apparently Goose wrote this before Johnny Moron 'allegedly' wore a costume in Vegas so he could mask his partying.

Nobody's going to trade anything of value for this guy. If CLE gets a 7th rounder for him, they should consider themselves lucky. If he partied hard in Cleveland, imagine what it's going to be like when he's back in his old stomping grounds.

Giving a 2 for JF would go down as one of the bigger mistakes JJ has made in a long long time.

Nobody in the NFL, even Jerrah, is giving a 2 for Manziel. Gosselin is nuts. Just because someone is drafted in the first it doesn't mean the team can recoup anything close to that. Did Tebow, Quinn, etc. fetch a 2? No way - they are either cut outright or dumped for a 6 or 7.

A 5th is the highest I see anyone giving up for Manziel and even that would be iffy.

That was debunked by Mike Pettine already.

Agree what a ridiculous comment from Gosselin. Cleveland will be lucky to get a 5th or sixth for him or might outright just cut him.

5th sounds about right. 6th-7th I would consider a bargain. Anything above 4 is extremely farfetched. A 4th is pretty farfetched...

Columnist Rick Gosselin recently held a chat to talk all things D-FW sports. Here are some highlights:

Question: Speculation on Manziel is heating up. What's the most you'd give up for him - or would you not even want him on this team at any cost? And if he's not a fit here with Garret, could a different coach make it work (Parcells-ish?).

Gosselin: I'd be surprised if Jones doesn't pick up the phone and inquire about Manziel. I'd also be surprised if he doesn't investigate RG III in free agency. Jerry is all about the marquee and those are two pretty big names to put on the marquee. Both would be popular moves in these parts. Bringing in either one of them would reduce the pressure to draft a quarterback in the first round. If I'm the Browns, I ask Jerry for a 2. I wasted a 1 on him, so I'd want to recoup as much of my investment as possible. The asking price would initially be high to save face. I'd ask for a 2 because with the way Jerry has yearned for him over the years, he might give me a 2.

Question: Has Wade Wison done anything other than collect a paycheck since he's been in Dallas?

Gosselin: The whole QB think tank -- Garrett, Linehan and Wade Wilson -- deserves its of the blame for the disaster that was the backup QB situation this season. How can three guys with a history at the position be so wrong in the evaluation and development of players at that position?

Question: Goose, it seemed that the Cowboys had a lack of chemistry issue this past season. Your thoughts!!!

Gosselin: Lack of chemistry, lack of talent, lack of luck, lack of coaching...lack of lots of things. When a team loses, its flaws are magnified. When a team wins, its flaws are hidden. Lots of magnification this season.

Question: Goose - I cannot recall a time when the Cowboys' coaching staff had a chance to coach the Senior Bowl. How important and influential is this with respect to the 2016 draft getting to work up close with the future NFL players?

Gosselin: If I owned an NFL team, I'd volunteer my coaching staff for the Senior Bowl every time I didn't make the playoffs. You see work ethic and intelligence of a player and also his coachability. Every year the team that coaches the Senior Bowl winds up with 2-3 players off the team they coached in Mobile. I think it's a tremendous edge in the scouting process.

I agree with people saying wait for the team to release him. You know its going to happen. Offer a low draft pick. But if you can get him for nothing then so be it. I can guarantee that the stuff thats happened in CLE wont happen in DAL. Cowboys have people who will make sure of that. They did that with Dez. Browns as a whole are a mess. From the owner on down. I can see the other side of the spectrum for Manziel too. The guy is so immature and is lost. But ill say this DAL to CLE is apples and oranges. If any team can change him its going to be the Cowboys and their support system. CLE coaches crucified him in the media. Its his fault but i havent seen any team in sports crucify any athlete the way pettine did Manziel. And it started from the moment Manziel was drafted.

That little piece on the 3 coaches screwing up the QB situation is on the button. Those 3 really need redeem themselves. I can see Wilson getting them walking papers. Jerry isnt going to Fire JG or Linehan but he was disgusted with the QB issue even threw himself under the bus.

Cant wait to see what side the Cowboys will be coaching. Hope its the south team.
