TRADE A 2ND ROUND PICK FOR JOHNNY FOOTBALL?

I wouldn't give the Browns a bottle of Jack for JM ( I know that's such poor taste)

There is no way any team is trading for him.

He has 2 years left on his contract ($1,169,872 base in 2016, $1,294,808 with a 250,000 roster bonus in 2017). All of 2016 is guaranteed and $1,004,125 is guaranteed in 2017.

Cleveland will have to cut him and a team then will sign him with probably very little signing bonus and no guarantees.

I agree with people saying wait for the team to release him. You know its going to happen. Offer a low draft pick. But if you can get him for nothing then so be it. I can guarantee that the stuff thats happened in CLE wont happen in DAL. Cowboys have people who will make sure of that. They did that with Dez. Browns as a whole are a mess. From the owner on down. I can see the other side of the spectrum for Manziel too. The guy is so immature and is lost. But ill say this DAL to CLE is apples and oranges. If any team can change him its going to be the Cowboys and their support system. CLE coaches crucified him in the media. Its his fault but i havent seen any team in sports crucify any athlete the way pettine did Manziel. And it started from the moment Manziel was drafted.

1. No, you can't guarantee it.
2. If Johnny Manziel is going to casinos in disguise, that mean he really, really, REALLY wants to gamble and have a good time. And that also means he'll evade anyone who's trying to get in his way of having a good time.
3. The Cowboys "detail" does not consist of prison guards.
4. Do you know EXACTLY what system the Cowboys have to prevent this type action with regards to Johnny?
5. Manziel isn't the only player to be criticized by his coach. Jay Gruden says "Hello" with respect to his criticism of RGIII. He basically said he isn't a good quarterback. And any criticism Johnny Football received is warranted. He doesn't study for games. He lies to his coaches. He's out partying. He deserves to be criticized because it seems that's the only thing that gets his attention.

You guys are too infatuated with Johnny Football. He doesn't belong on this team. PERIOD! We're not the Poor Sister's of the Charity. Let him be someone else's headache.

Columnist Rick Gosselin recently held a chat to talk all things D-FW sports. Here are some highlights:

Question: Speculation on Manziel is heating up. What's the most you'd give up for him - or would you not even want him on this team at any cost? And if he's not a fit here with Garret, could a different coach make it work (Parcells-ish?).

Gosselin: I'd be surprised if Jones doesn't pick up the phone and inquire about Manziel. I'd also be surprised if he doesn't investigate RG III in free agency. Jerry is all about the marquee and those are two pretty big names to put on the marquee. Both would be popular moves in these parts. Bringing in either one of them would reduce the pressure to draft a quarterback in the first round. If I'm the Browns, I ask Jerry for a 2. I wasted a 1 on him, so I'd want to recoup as much of my investment as possible. The asking price would initially be high to save face. I'd ask for a 2 because with the way Jerry has yearned for him over the years, he might give me a 2.

Question: Has Wade Wison done anything other than collect a paycheck since he's been in Dallas?

Gosselin: The whole QB think tank -- Garrett, Linehan and Wade Wilson -- deserves its of the blame for the disaster that was the backup QB situation this season. How can three guys with a history at the position be so wrong in the evaluation and development of players at that position?

Question: Goose, it seemed that the Cowboys had a lack of chemistry issue this past season. Your thoughts!!!

Gosselin: Lack of chemistry, lack of talent, lack of luck, lack of coaching...lack of lots of things. When a team loses, its flaws are magnified. When a team wins, its flaws are hidden. Lots of magnification this season.

Question: Goose - I cannot recall a time when the Cowboys' coaching staff had a chance to coach the Senior Bowl. How important and influential is this with respect to the 2016 draft getting to work up close with the future NFL players?

Gosselin: If I owned an NFL team, I'd volunteer my coaching staff for the Senior Bowl every time I didn't make the playoffs. You see work ethic and intelligence of a player and also his coachability. Every year the team that coaches the Senior Bowl winds up with 2-3 players off the team they coached in Mobile. I think it's a tremendous edge in the scouting process.

Why would jerry or Stephen call about Manziel? What do they see that says yea we've gotta get this guy? He's not any good. He lacks in several areas on the field. Too short. Weak arm. Throws bad picks. Etc etc.

He's also a disaster off the field. Showing up to practice drunk. Has a Coke problem. Partying in Vegas the night before a game. ZERO character. Why would anybody want this guy? Especially when we can draft a Lynch or Goff

They will call because they are about money and publicity and NOT about a winning football team/culture

I have little doubt jerry will call and try to get JF

I'd give a 4th. But nothing higher.

We need to bring him or Rg3 in and wash our hands of Romo.

The run was fun

That little piece on the 3 coaches screwing up the QB situation is on the button. Those 3 really need redeem themselves. I can see Wilson getting them walking papers. Jerry isnt going to Fire JG or Linehan but he was disgusted with the QB issue even threw himself under the bus.

Cant wait to see what side the Cowboys will be coaching. Hope its the south team.

Cannot disagree with you more

Cowboys need to stay FAR way from this guy

When you add someone like him to a team that already has hardy, McClain, Dez, that is a disaster waiting to happen

No team has "people" who can handle that

He was in Vegas. On Sunday morning he missed his 9 AM medical appointment with the team doctor(s) because he wasn't back from NV. He's a liar, a drunkard and the last thing the Cowboys need is more negative attention.

So does that mean you dont like him ??

Kinda sounds like your talking about Jerry lol.
They might get along great party bus pals!

Also Johnny never wanted to go to cleveland, He wanted dallas, and his actions there could be that of someone wanting to be cut.
If he gets cut then he can go elsewhere, and maybe dallas.

I think Jerry will go after him since it would not cost much.

I will wait it out. I do not want JF here. More so that I just do not think he will last long in the league as a player. He just doesn't have it. If that stems from his partying or drinking, being immature, as that has plenty to do with it.
But I never for once even coming out in the draft thought he would be a difference maker for any team at QB.
He will be broken in half at some point.
Just my opinion. But I want the prototypical size type QB or close to it. The pocket passer with some mobility and strong arm that can make all the throws.

I'm sick of hearing the lack of talent excuse, some of the teams in the playoffs have less talent on both sides of the ball but they have better coaching.
