Everybody is commenting on Johnny Manziel and missed this:

If there's a QB at 4 worth the pick, that's the direction I'd go. Romo is 36 and brittle. Better start looking ahead. You saw what a mess it was when Aikman retired and there was no plan in place to replace him...

This is the direction I want the team to go to. Stay away from Manziel or RGIII. Draft a the future QB at #4. Go with Romo and some other veteran other than the aforementioned two, We need Johnny Football like we need a hole in the head.

Jerry should be laughed out of the league anyway but giving up ANYTHING for a talentless hack like JF would help cement that

I would not be surprised if the Browns cut JF and if he is out of the league in the next 3 years

I agree. I wouldn't be surprised either.
There's a few things you can't do as an NFL player and expect to stay employed. Lying to your coaches and directly REFUSING to obey their advice are two of them.

No one missed that. :)

Griffin would be a viable backup.

Except why would he come here to sit on the bench? There are several teams hurting at QB that will give him a chance to actually play his way on to the field as a starter. He needs to prove the Skins were wrong about him if he ever wants significant playing time again, and barring another catastrophe with Romo, that won't happen here.

Drafting a QB to be your franchise QB is such a hit and miss these days. From this draft I don't see any of these Qb's as anything special. The Qb class is week this year and in another year these Qb's would be at best 2nd to 3rd rounders. I would rather at this point get a good FA as there are many up for grabs this year. For those saying we will not land a top Qb in FA as they would stay with there current team, guess again money talks and what Jerry wants he gets.

Thats a good point. But we are talking about a guy who was not even active on game days. Skins determined McCoy and Cousins were better than him. I dont think he wants to get killed in Cleveland. Maybe 49ers would give him a shot, but after the scrambling CK debacle, they may be looking for a more pocket qb type. Maybe the Eagles give him a shot? Houston may be happy with BW, believe it or not. Looking at his options, Dallas might be his best bet. Romo has missed lots of time due to injury and his chances of getting on the field behind a quality OLine is best in Dallas.

Please spell out this awesome free agent backup QB plan you have and how what Jerry wants Jerry gets.

I am anxious to hear the specifics of how you think this will work out and with what QB.

Jerry will want him and you be telling us how it's a good move

Didn't martellus have issues? We're you in favor of Greg hardy? I'm not saying this is the right move, but if you are willing to bring in a 30 yr old no talent backup qb, what's wrong with him?

You can't do both?

Take your Pick. I am sure there are many on the list that are capable backups to Romo and much better than trying to land a Qb in this draft who are nothing to write home about.

Again, I asked for specifics on your statement that makes it sound so easy. I don't need a list to choose from. I already know who is out there and what a lot of the landscape looks like.

You stated get a good FA. Who? And what top FA is going to take the money and just be content being a backup?

Last year the same was said about Mariotta and Winston. I heard the same rumblings about Newton and Bortles. Everybody has an opinion on QB's and other positions go bust and nobody notices. Nobody is trying to convince Jerry to trade for Markevious Mingo or Jadeveon Clowney. I'm sure both can be had on the cheap come draft day.

The penciled in starter for the Rams right now is Case Keenum and the backup is Nick Foles.

The Saints are rumored to be going into rebuilding mode, especially if they lose Payton. If that happens they are not going to pay Brees $30M.

Who knows what happens with Manning in Denver, but Osweiler hardly grabbed the starting job if Manning does retire or the Broncos decide to move on.

If Chip Kelly does land somewhere other than Tennessee RG's agent will call him the next day, his talents fit much better in Kelly's system than most. In fact even if Kelly does wind up with the Titans, he is probably better off backing up Mariotta from a system standpoint than trying to fake it in Garret's timing system, which he is not suited for.

Fitzpatrick is a free agent who may or may not be back in NY, and Geno Smith is no lock to take over.

Point is there are plenty of opportunities for him to get on the field in a better situation than just hoping Romo gets injured. There seems to be this automatic feeling that Jerry is just going to wave some money at him and he will come here, but unless its a huge amount and RG3 really is just to content to take it, I don't think it happens (which I am happy about BTW - he was benched in Washington for good reasons).

So Gosselin, the ultimate hindsight critic is advocating sending picks to the Browns for an unproven, short party guy that has not shown any respect for any authority whatsoever. And as soon as Jerry does that, Gosselin will be the first to pounce on him. It's almost like he's cultivating his own future stories.

I will wait it out. I do not want JF here. More so that I just do not think he will last long in the league as a player. He just doesn't have it. If that stems from his partying or drinking, being immature, as that has plenty to do with it.
But I never for once even coming out in the draft thought he would be a difference maker for any team at QB.
He will be broken in half at some point.
Just my opinion. But I want the prototypical size type QB or close to it. The pocket passer with some mobility and strong arm that can make all the throws.
yeah that would be the way to go, but this is the jones boys, no telling what they will do.

So your answer is to give up an elite top 7 QB in the nfl for one of these two bums, who together aren't worthy to carry Tony's shoes?? WOW!

I mean, other than beautiful stats, what has Romo done? Besides break his collar bone more than once, use to be the interception master, and going to the playoffs and getting eliminated?
