I don't expect you to understand. In a sport that literally any play can cause an injury, playing and coaching scared is foolish. Resting players don't give you protection against injuries. For example Romo could get hurt during the first snap of the playoff game.

Have the Lions broken his back the last two times we have played them?

Romo just needs to be smart out there. If he sees the fat guy gunning for him, just lay down. Hes done that before. If he doesnt see him, everyone just pray.

For the record, I agree with the philosophy of playing every game, whether its meaningful or not.

Stupid.

Can't believe people can be so stubborn.

He's not being forthcoming. He just wants the players to prepare as usual. The guys that need rest will get it. Definitely tony. That's the only logical thing to do. Anyone saying any different is an idiot.

They're not going to play to win this game. That would require tony playing a full game and that won't happen. JG just wants the players to prepare like normal.

Well, let's just hope that's what's going on......

I'm sorry, last answer for me, promise. :)

I remember when we were out of the playoff so to speak and Philly was riding high. There were so many people saying, we need to at least win 2 games, and hope that this happens and hope that that happens. Well, thank God Garrett doesn't think like that. I've been critical of Garrett for being a soft wimp, and scared little mouse. I said we needed to win out, and I'll guarantee you that's what Garrett told his players. Garrett smells blood right now. There's no time to get conservative. He became conservative in the Chicago game and it could have cost us. He learned from there. He creamed Philly, took their heart out. He creamed Colts took their heart out. And now he's taking no prisoners.

Get used to this. We're coming at teams no matter what the risks are. This is who we are now, get used to it. It's not gambling to me. Romo has missed 1 game, there's no evidence he's going to get hurt. And if he does, next man up. This is the reality of the new Cowboys team right now.

You got that from what JG said? He isn't being forthcoming. He wants his players to prepare like normal. But tony murray ro and some other guys will not be playing much if at all. They won't play to win that game. They will play to survive it.

Well, they would get 2 weeks off if the starters don't play, so it's a bit different.
I would play them for a half at the most.

Wait so you think a half of football over 2 weeks is the difference between rust and staying sharp?

It's not about winning this game, its about surviving it.

They adjusted to that A gap blitz pretty effectively in the weeks following that first Skins game, actually. We definitely had some recognition problems exposed in that game.

Commanders brought more blitzers than we had blockers. That was the problem more than the A gap specifically. It was on romo and the receivers and their communications.

We have some scared defeatest fans. It's time to put your big boy pants on and roll into the playoffs; not peeping over your shoulder and around corners while hoping no one see you sneak in.

This right here!

Playing scared into the playoffs is what Wade did .......

First. Garrett's thi8nking and public display the starters will start may have more to do with the league frowning on not playing the marque players in all games. Weeden could be in on the second snap of the ball for all we know.

But if there is even a remote chance this team can get to the second seed, then you have too look at this as the next game on the calendar.

Lots of people have prepped their future comments on the "this is a bye week" position. They will be livid if anything befalls Romo.

One has to wonder if these people would have the same angst if Dallas missed the second seed due to Weeden playing and Romo sitting?

Probably not. But it would be just as big a deal.

This game has no bearing whatsoever on whether or not we get the #2 seed. There is an infinitesimally small chance we can get the #1 seed if we win, but the probability of that is so low, its hard to justify risking injury for it.

If tony goes down the mods better have a doomsday prep in mind for this forum. This place will go into a thermal meltdown . In fact, the whole city of Dallas will.
Heads up jobber/idg/and the whole gang.

Landry, Jimmy, Parcells and Belichick all played their starters in the same scenario. If anyone call Garrett an idiot for playing starters, then they are also calling these coaches idiots by proxy.

Belichick did lose Welker in a meaningless finale, and then got spanked in the playoffs.

We don't need to Win to gain that #2 seed. Was pointed out to me, so long as the Rams defeat the Seahawks & the 49ers defeat the Cardinals, we'd earn the #2 seed, regardless if we Win or Lose our game.

Is this really all we need?
