how is CJ a reject he's loud over confident and loves to celebrate. That doesn't make him a reject him wanting to be traded is no different from when Kobe Bryant wanted to be traded. Players play the game to win championships CJ has done almost everything except win a championship same with TO and Randy Moss. These guys want to win they don't want to play for teams on the decline. The Bengals haven't made any moves to suggest that they have improved the team.

Brett says he wants the Packers to sign Randy Moss or else he would retire yet he isn't considered a reject. Brett Farve addicted to pain killers yet he isn't considered a reject instead he the golden boy. I don't get it I would love for CJ to come here. Not all the best players can be like LT. I guess deion was a reject because he had his own TD celebration. Did you ever consider Irvin a reject when he was hittin the crack pipes and winning champion ships (even the CJ doesn't do that). man ppl these days.....

:laugh2:

Great post.....gotta love it when a poster just goes off.

While I agree with just about everything you have said, there is one HUGE FACTOR YOU ARE FORGETTING ABOUT.

2009 IS THE LAST YEAR OF THE SALARY CAP.

The teams know this, the hard cap is going the way of the dino. Even if an agreement is reached with the players, you will see some sort of modified cap.

Why do you think there has been so many "normally conservative" teams printing money like it is going out of style? Example, the Raiders and the Jets have spent more than the GDP of most 3rd world developing countries this offseason.

Why is that?

Agreed.

I really don't have a clear handle on that yet. You maybe certainly correct.

I'm just see that as a strike-provoking deal, though, and that renders any plans to plan on a non-capped season as moot..

..as I don't think there will be any games period if there is no cap and no synergy b/w the owners and the NFLPA.

But you maybe right..some teams maybe looking at that situation as an opportunity to be taken advantage of..but I just don't see it as anything but a lot of chaos if it goes that route and damage to the league if it happens.

It's a dangerous cliff to be heading toward..IMO. One to be avoided.

We'll see.

This probably belongs in another thread, but I don't know why people are so sure there's going to be no cap in the future. Just because there's a strike or a lockout or the owners opt out of the current CBA doesn't mean there won't be a cap. Owners love salary caps because they allow them to control their expenses and better make projections.

Just because Jerry might like an uncapped league doesn't mean that enough others would. (And even Jerry has said he wouldn't spend like mad without one anyway. He loves talking about how young and cheap the '92 team was.)

there's no going back now, once you state your distaste for the place you play, and tell your QB to shove off, that's it

Houshmandzadeh: It will be problem for Bengals if Johnson not dealt

Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh said Thursday it would be best if the Cincinnati Bengals and disgruntled receiver Chad Johnson parted ways.

Houshmandzadeh
"If he's not traded it's going to be a problem." Houshmandzadeh told ESPN's Bob Holtzman.

Houshmandzadeh told ESPN he talked with both Johnson and quarterback Carson Palmer on Wednesday after Johnson demanded a trade from Cincinnati.

Houshmandzadeh said Johnson reiterated to him: "I'm not playing."

"I think eventually he'll show up, but then you have to worry about how much of a distraction he'll be," Houshmandzadeh told ESPN.

Johnson said Wednesday that he wants out of Cincinnati as fast as possible and he doesn't plan on reporting for any future Bengals functions -- mandatory or voluntary.

What spurred Johnson's immediate reaction was a statement made by Palmer that indicated Johnson had told the quarterback he would be at the team's mandatory minicamp in mid-June. Johnson said that wasn't true.

"I want to make this very clear,'' Johnson told ESPN.com's John Clayton on Wednesday. "I don't know where he got that. I made no assertion to Carson that I would do that. Nothing has changed from what I've been saying for three months that I don't want to play for the Bengals.''

Johnson made one of his strongest statements in saying he is not planning on reporting to any team functions because he wants to be traded.

"I want to be traded before the draft, and if that doesn't happen, I want to be traded as soon as possible,'' Johnson told ESPN.com. "I don't intend on reporting to anything.''

Houshmandzadeh told ESPN that Johnson spent most of the past few months not returning Palmer's phone calls. Houshmandzadeh said Palmer and Johnson have talked a few times recently.

Houshmandzadeh, who said he's talked to Johnson more this offseason than ever, revealed to ESPN that Johnson started talking about wanting out of Cincinnati during last season.

He said the Bengals are in a no-win situation.

"If we keep him and don't win, he'll tell everyone 'I told you so,' " Houshmandzadeh said.

I think CJ would be a good fit in Dallas. Supposedly, he ans TO are friendsso I don'y envision any problems. I would rather have Williams or Bolden though but definitely wouldn't complain if we did get Johnson.

Well I was going to 2 games this and the Ravens was one of them being it's the last game at TS. I was wavering on the other game. If we do get 85 the other game will be the Cincy game. That should be a show.
