Could it be worse? Absolutely. Could it be a lot better? Absolutely.

Aikman, Kelly, Staubach to just name a few

I would add more but you would not listen anyway

Stone Cold hit it on the head in his podcast a couple of weeks back.

I don't think Tony has the composure to execute in high pressure situations.

Assemble the greatest supporting cast ever, I don't see Romo getting the job done.

You can sum it up like this.

If Tom Brady was our QB last year, Dallas would have been 4-12 or worse. He would have been killed.

It's just one man's opinion on the play of our QB...but that one man is a HoF QB in his own right. Can we at least agree that his opinion is educated, and that an educated opinion is better than an uneducated one? I hope so.

Michael Jordan?

The problem is not Roger's opinion. If you read or listened to what Roger actually says, it's not to terribly far off from what many posters say on this board.

The problem is that too many take what a person like Roger says and twist it into some sort of statement on points other then what was actually being said. This, IMO, is the problem.

An educated opinion doesn't always equal a good talent evaluator.

While true,

A good painter usually is able to recognize another good painter.

A good public speaker is usually able to recognize another good speaker.

A good architect is usually able to recognize another good architect.

A good race car driver is usually able to recognize another good driver.

A good poster is usually able to recognize another good poster . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

On and on it could go.

In Roger's case, its just a tad more than just an educated opinion.

It's not terribly far off from those posters' opinions, because those posters have reasonable opinions about Tony Romo, and Roger's in a unique position to corroborate that.

I can't speak to any twisting. Obviously, if anything's getting twisted into something he's not saying, then whatever is compelling about Roger's opinion gets lost in the argument-wrangling.

The comparison you're trying to make is pretty far afield from the opinion of a HoF NFL QB about a single NFL player who plays his same position.

Right, I actually went back and corrected my last post as I posted it wrong. What I meant to say was that Roger's statements are NOT to terribly off a great many posters here. However, the truth is still the truth and the truth is that many will take what Roger said and use it as confirmation that we "Have a Championship" QB, which we do not. That's the problem.

Obviously Roger is calling Tony a championship "caliber" QB since Romo has no championship yet. The whole point he makes is that Romo has what it takes to get it done.

No, the whole point he is making is that Romo has the talent to become a Championship QB IF he gets more help.

What is being presented by many is that Romo is already that kind of QB and he's not.

Why is this important? It's important because the contract that we have signed with Romo is a huge factor in obtaining some of that much needed talent. The team obviously feels as though Romo is already that guy but much of the fan base does not agree.

I do not agree that he is. I think he can be but I am far from believe that he already is, based on what I have seen in the past.

If you assess problem positions vs strength positions, Romo is definitely not a problem, although getting paid like a champion does not seem exactly right.

No one knows how Brady would do in Dallas. Heck Cassle with 10-5 in NE because he is a great QB? or maybe because NE has good solid talent and are very well disciplined team? I think Brady is great but he gets protection and his team does not do things to beat themselves on offense, defense or special teams they are fundamentally sound.

I don't know that. Romo does nto get near the help I see guys like Brady, Brees or Rodgers is getting.

I think Romo can have as much success as any QB but it is going to take others on this team for this team achivement to take place and it is a team achivement. Brady, Rodgers and Brees are not doing anything on their own.
