Remember when Parcells left, and Jerry said it was like a cloud had been lifted and that football would be "fun" again? Are we having fun yet?

Another Jerry classic:

When Owens was signed, Jerry was peppered with questions about Owens possibly disrupting things and causing problems. Jerry's reply:

"Nobody is going to burn this place down as long as I'm here."

Man this is getting real bad.

Now people are questioning Romos character??

This is going to be a long long offseason.

I questioned it once he started shacking up with sluts.

He meant to say: "Unless they use the matches I provide."

He is reporting there was a game were TO was wide open, and he got mad......then went into film room the next day and said "See i was open" out loud, and Romo just laughed at him

and the players think Romo thinks hes better then what he really is.....

this is getting sad

*on ESPN*

Edit-oh and that the pass went to Witten in double coverage

So Calvin Watkins is on ESPN now?

How embarrassing.

And TO is such a fool. Wish he could play QB and see how impossible it is to get the ball to every "open" player every play.

Thinking you're better than you are isn't a character concern, every competitive player in the world of sports thinks highly of themselves.

And as I've said many times, Romo doesn't have the best field vision. He doesn't always see the open man, whether it's because of his own skill, the line or a combination of the two.

He's no Tom Brady.

What he does have a great spacial awareness and a nose for big plays. He's young and could develop better field vision, but I'm not sure he's not already close to the ceiling as far as that's concerned.

Now does the above information make it so that TO is cut and we wash our hands of him or does that mean there is still some reckoning left for 2010?

I don't know Fuzzy. All I know is this coming year. They can always play with contracts depending on other's compliance. I don't see them messing around with TO's contract as this year is likely his last unless all this crap stops which it won't. Or they cut him this year anyway.

Whatever happens with the cap in 2010, $700,000 is not going to cost us Ware.

We have half a dozen contracts signed just last year that could be minorly re-structured to make up that money.

Heck we should make Hamlin pay it out of pocket....

We don't know what they will agree to. 2010 could be a freebie. Or they could retroactively go back. They are on treacherous ground IMO. The small markets can't keep up with the bigger ones. Dallas is sitting pretty there. And I agree about Hamlin. That was a poor decision.

Hey, CL. TO's got a point: he can't throw the ball and then sometimes catch it, too.

Funny, isn't it... That was the play that the Steeler's pretty much implicated the play-calling. It is amazing how much these people turn coat.

Now Romo's practice habits are being questioned, when all throughout the season and training camp, the media protrayed him as this guy who was accurate in practice, zipping the ball and studying hard. He was working with coaches to learn the game and better himself. Suddenly, players are questioning Romo in practice, when they longed for the day he would return, after the atrocity that was Brad Johnson.

Ridiculous, these sources they keep talking about...

Sorry, I didn't see these glowing reports on how hard he was working in TC and definitely not throughout the season.

I heard/read:

he changed his stance to be more upright ala Tom Brady;

various reports on getting snap back on the ball after breaking the pinky. Period.

I did hear reports of teammates questioning his practice habits.

Well, its probably a topic for another thread but if no new cap is hammered out I don't see the owners letting the players get near the field. Especially with a downturned economy.

That said, I still believe unless Jerry really didn't know what the hit was (a problem in itself) it was a disingenuous remark by him that cutting TO could cost Ware. You can't make a comment like that based on knowing or not knowing the cap situation next year, becuase that works both ways. Who knows, any new cap rules may wind up costing us more to keep TO, you can't be making cause/effect statements based on that.

It was clearly a deliberate attempt IMO to tie an unpopular player to probably the best guy on the team. I'm sorry, Jerry is about PR, not legal technicalities of a cap agreement that hasn't been negotiated yet.

All I know is, if those sources are players, I would find out who and send them packing. If they feel it is their duty to spred the discord with the media instead of speaking up to the team and coaches, they are worse than Owens could ever be. He may be a pain in your arse, but he comes out in the open with it.

I disagree. I think it's great and if there is more, I want to hear it. I want this trainwreck exposed for what it is and I'm glad someone has the guts to talk about it, even if it is to a media source. You have nothing to hide if you have done nothing wrong. Obviously, there is something we are trying to hide to "keep in house" which is code for "something shameful that is being hid". I spend money on this team. I think I deserve to know what this team is all about.

By the way, I love the Cowboys. I love the helmet, the uniform, the cheerleaders, Texas Stadium, the memories, and the players from times gone by. But, I hate this team. I hate this group of individuals that make up the whole of the 2008 Dallas Cowboys. Not individually, but as a whole. I hate to watch them play. It saddens me that this once great franchise is a complete trainwreck with no relief in sight. It sickens me that we are probably in for the same thing again next year. We are the worst highly talented team I can ever remember. A joke.

I wonder if Romo or Witten were ever late. It *IS* funny how no other names were given.

Sounds like hatewagon tabloid trash reporting to me. TMZ would be proud.

could be, but its one of the things owens is notorious for.

SLeeping through meetings/missing meetings.

Being late to practice.

then attacking the people who ask him to do the basic things entailed in his job. Remember why brad childress had problems with him? He was late and sleeping through meetings and then he attacked childress.

When jerry tucks him in tonight, I hope he reads him a really great book the two of them must do something together that is keeping him here.

Let me see if I got this straight: the players love Jerry & Wade because they are so cool and not mean like Parcells, except for the offensive players whose feelings got hurt because Wade doesn't spend as much time with them as he does with his defensive "pets"; the defensive players are so not into Brian Stewart because he is like totally a loser; some of the offensive players don't like Jason because he picks on them but lets Romo get away with murder; they also don't like Tony because he makes more money but gets to do whatever he wants and doesn't get busted; and some of the offensive players like Crayton think Garrett is a wuss because when T.O. yells at him and calls him names, he just talks nicely like the whitebread cracker that he is.

I've seen this before: my son is in the 8th grade, and the similarities are stunning.

I guess I define guts a little differently. I would prefer them to go to the other players or coaches or at the very least use their name on the article instead hiding behind the anonymous source tag. It takes no guts whatsoever to whisper harmfull gossip behind everyone's back but a ton of guts to raise your voice face to face.
