ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Cowboys running back Darren McFadden came up one yard short of recording his sixth 100-yard game. He finished with 19 carries for 99 yards.

McFadden heads into the Cowboys' regular-season finale Sunday against Washington needing three yards to reach 1,000 in a season for only the second time in his eight-year career.

If McFadden reaches 1,000 yards rushing this season, he'll receive a $300,000 bonus as part of his two-year contract.

McFadden could have eclipsed the 1,000-yard plateau in the fourth quarter if his 17-yard run over left tackle hadn't been called back because of a Lucky Whitehead holding penalty.

McFadden's 19 carries did help him set a career high for rushing attempts in a season with 227, eclipsing his 223 he had in 2010 in Oakland.

McFadden is in position to play in all 16 games for a second consecutive season after missing 29 games because of injury over his first six seasons with the Raiders.

Dmac would be a great number 2 back playing a lot, but with a big back like Henry starting Dallas would wear down other defenses !!!!!

I'm happy for him.

The only thing that keeps me from being happier is that Jerrah will now regard drafting a RB as less needed.

I think other than QB..RB has to remain out there as our biggest need.

Say what you will about the poor play of the OL at times..

its more about QB play and not having a RB anybody fears as our biggest problems.

he has earned it. Ran hard most of year and most importantly stayed healthy. I didn't think he had it in him especially him getting hurt on first practice of tc. He will be good tandem with rookie RB next year.

Well I think RB is the biggest need !!! Dmac is great but we need a young top back to go with him, like Elliott or Henry !!! Why the top need ?? Ball control and game control. Last year Dallas controlled games with the run game !!!! Dallas OL is young and will get better !!! YOu put a one -two punch like Henry and Dmac behind the Dallas line and you control the game !!! A bonus is you keep Romo alive !!! Backup QB is the 2nd greatest need and really need to get a third string QB as well.

I'm crossing my toes my fingers everything to get that guy. And who better to teach him the ropes of being a pro than McFadden a true professional who has not have off field issues not only to him but to who ever we decide to bring in.

Being the frugal business man that Jerrah is, he may very well be sending a memo down to bench #20 next week. Of course he'll make the excuse that we need to evaluate the Turbinator for a full game.

It is very foolish to think Jerry or Garrett will sit a player just to save money. You guys act like this is the first time players ever had incentive milestones within reach at the end of a non-playoff season. Jerry and the FO have no history of trying to screw players over and even if they tried now, the NFLPA would be all over them (rightfully so) and would win in arbitration or court later because it would be so obvious. Not to mention the fact that doing so would severely limit or impact future free agent signings who would not sign contracts with the Cowboys that include incentive milestones.

Fans never seem to understand that a few hundred thousand means nothing to Jerry and the Cowboys except how it affects the salary cap. To most of us, $300k would be a huge amount, but to Jerry, it's like $3k in normal people money. Thinking he would risk the ire of the NFLPA and media attacks, and negatively impact future free agent signings over such a small amount is ridiculous.

That would be extremely petty. He wouldn't do that to a fellow Razorback.

Well we find out next game, I figure he plays though. he could have hit that mark, had we got the ball back or no fumble by whitehead etc.
also the phantom holding call knocked off 17.
