I think Jerry would just give him the money. He likes to take care of the players

As one of his biggest critics, I really hope he gets it. One of the few guys who have more than earned their keep during this nightmare season.
He's averaged 87 yards per game since he became the main back, which would be pretty close to 1,400 yards over 16 games.
That's how good this offensive line is.
Call me jaded but I am not that impressed with him overall.
He did better than I thought he would so I will give him credit there but he has also stayed healthy for most of the season which is probably an anomaly for him.
I will also say this...on the surface 1K used to be a standard...I think it is more now but even with that old standard that is not bad...what is bad however is when you look at his TD numbers.
He has a grand total of 3 TDs for the year.
But according to NFL.COM this team only has 8 rushing TDs. We might be top ten in rushing (NFL.COM) but tied at 20th for rushing TDs.
Than again...we are 31st in WRs scoring TDs with just 13 TDs.
Those are some disappointing numbers.
Either way...I don't want to go into next year with Dmac as the starting RB. We need fresh blood back there IMO.
It is very foolish to think Jerry or Garrett will sit a player just to save money. You guys act like this is the first time players ever had incentive milestones within reach at the end of a non-playoff season. Jerry and the FO have no history of trying to screw players over and even if they tried now, the NFLPA would be all over them (rightfully so) and would win in arbitration or court later because it would be so obvious. Not to mention the fact that doing so would severely limit or impact future free agent signings who would not sign contracts with the Cowboys that include incentive milestones.
Fans never seem to understand that a few hundred thousand means nothing to Jerry and the Cowboys except how it affects the salary cap. To most of us, $300k would be a huge amount, but to Jerry, it's like $3k in normal people money. Thinking he would risk the ire of the NFLPA and media attacks, and negatively impact future free agent signings over such a small amount is ridiculous.

Here are the league's rushing leaders since McFadden became our main back (week 7):I think that would have him competing to lead the league in rushing.
Crazy to think that he is fifth as it is right now. He is also fifth in YPA for running backs that have over 200 carries.
I'm happy for him.
The only thing that keeps me from being happier is that Jerrah will now regard drafting a RB as less needed.
I think other than QB..RB has to remain out there as our biggest need.
Say what you will about the poor play of the OL at times..
its more about QB play and not having a RB anybody fears as our biggest problems.

That said, we need to finally draft a stud rb that strikes fear in the eyes of opponents. Last year that was Gurley. There are a few possibilities out there this year. Get it done.
Jerry can't be that stupid.
McFadden did a great job for the Cowboys. But his contribution didn't have as great an impact on the offense. And he's not a back that can carry the load foe the Cowboys next year. He's getting older.
He'll be a great change-of pace back next year and will fulfill a value role in the offense. But that's only if we have a bell cow like Derrick Henry or Zeke Elliott.
Here are the league's rushing leaders since McFadden became our main back (week 7):
Peterson MIN 986
Martin TB 949
McFadden DAL 868
Gurley StL 794
LMurray OAK 699
Running against defenses that have no fear of the pass, with QB's who won't check out of doomed running plays, on a team that never leads big late in games, in a scheme that he doesn't fit.
