Looks like we have a great offensive line to me. They are so good that they make a jag like DMF look good. Now Jerry will ignore the position next year and roll with DMF as our starter and he will get hurt right off the bat.
The running game held its own, and obviously the line is a huge part of that. We should be able to draft a good RB without spending an early-round pick.

He seemed pretty worthless in a committee.

I sort of agree there.

He seems to get better with more carries which most of the good backs will.

But he should improve next year after the team better knows how to use him.

I want to see him thrown to more. They were using Dunbar for that but maybe not so much with his injury plus sending in Dunbar signals a pass to him..

not so much if DMac gets it instead.

I'm happy for him.

The only thing that keeps me from being happier is that Jerrah will now regard drafting a RB as less needed.

I think other than QB..RB has to remain out there as our biggest need.

Say what you will about the poor play of the OL at times..

its more about QB play and not having a RB anybody fears as our biggest problems.

I think we DON'T need to waste a 1st round pick on a RB, or maybe even a 2nd round pick. We need to get either a STUD DT, and I mean the second coming of Warren Sapp or someone of the caliber. Our Run defense is our biggest weakness right now, and until we address that it won;t matter how well we can run the ball.

jerry may sit him next game lol save 300.000

The first play will be a run to get him that 3 yards. Oh, wait, it's always a run...
So if they pass, will a conspiracy be started....
No, Jerry would be very happy to pay that in reality.

Just got an alert on phone. Zeke Elliot cited for multiple offenses from a car crash on Sunday.
No details yet, but depending, this may keep him out of the bowl game, and hurt his draft status.

Ok, according to bleacher report, on Sunday afternoon, he told the highway patrol, he lost control, hydroplaned.
he was cited for driving under suspension, operating without a license, and failure to control. no one injured and he was the only person in the car.

Here are the league's rushing leaders since McFadden became our main back (week 7):

Peterson MIN 986
Martin TB 949
McFadden DAL 868
Gurley StL 794
LMurray OAK 699

Running against defenses that have no fear of the pass, with QB's who won't check out of doomed running plays, on a team that never leads big late in games, in a scheme that he doesn't fit.

I know what you're saying, Percy, but I just disagree. Darren McFadden is not better than Todd Gurley.

Dmac would be a great number 2 back playing a lot, but with a big back like Henry starting Dallas would wear down other defenses !!!!!

DMC has played well and deserves to be the number one back next year. He has run hard and I argue he did as well as Murray could have done under the circumstances. Despite your desire for a pet cat, add Dunbar back into the mix and Turbin as the back up and we are set at RB.

Oh, please God no. This would be the worst case scenario for next year.

I think it's a dangerous line to cross if you don't allow those guys to try to hit their incentive bonuses. The last thing this team needs is for players across the NFL to think we're trying to screw them out of money.

Call me jaded but I am not that impressed with him overall.

He did better than I thought he would so I will give him credit there but he has also stayed healthy for most of the season which is probably an anomaly for him.

I will also say this...on the surface 1K used to be a standard...I think it is more now but even with that old standard that is not bad...what is bad however is when you look at his TD numbers.

He has a grand total of 3 TDs for the year.

Pretty close to my feelings as well. Sorry, not all that impressed.

He has done better than expectations but there is no reason to think, given his career history, that he will just do it again.

And honestly, even if he duplicated this year in 2016, is it that impressive? He has nothing to do with setting tempo or making the opposition gear up to stop him. He has left yards on the field much more than people were whining about Murray doing last year.

DMcF earned his money this year. Exceeded everyone's expectations. I still dont like the idea of him repeating this success, however, but would be ok with a timeshare where he gets more of the carries.

This.

Great production this year, albeit behind a very good line, but he should not be considered a lock to be the workhorse back this team needs with TR at QB. They need to get younger at the position and they need more options.

As one of his biggest critics, I really hope he gets it. One of the few guys who have more than earned their keep during this nightmare season.

I would think they're likely to allow him to get it. It'd be a slap in the face if they used Turbin instead with the lame excuse that it's to preserve his health. -- lol.

I don't disagree with that. I'm not a big fan of taking a RB in the first round of the draft unless that RB is a once in a decade type player. I prefer to go with a top defensive player. Let's hope there are some good ones out there.

Why? DMAC has performed very well this year. If anything, the OL has proven that you don't need to draft a RB high or spend 8 million per year on one. If Dmac would have been afforded the same situation that 29 had last year, he would have had 1400 -1500 yards this year and that would be have been out standing. I am all for drafting a RB, but I see no need to draft one before the 3rd round.

He's averaged 87 yards per game since he became the main back, which would be pretty close to 1,400 yards over 16 games.

That's how good this offensive line is.

Yup.

I remember all the offseason angst over our running game.

People seemingly. New to the game don't realize that unless you're truly special the line makes the back... Not the other way around.

It's why I don't want a rb in the early rounds.

Which incidentally was the definition of a phantom call.

I agree with the announcers, I think the officials meant to call T Williams who was much closer to guilty.

I have to say, I appreciated how Lucky just lined up for the next play instead of futile (though righteous) argument with the officials.
