I wish he'd been the lead feature back all year. I believe he would have given us about 1300-1400 yards if he'd been starting all along. Those first 5 or 6 games where he didn't start (Although I believe in the 6th game he did record his first hundred yard day) would have given him a very nice year.

I have no issue with him being the feature back next season while we get a young guy in here and let him start taking some reps from DMC.

...what is bad however is when you look at his TD numbers.

He has a grand total of 3 TDs for the year.

But according to NFL.COM this team only has 8 rushing TDs. We might be top ten in rushing (NFL.COM) but tied at 20th for rushing TDs.

Then again...we are 31st in WRs scoring TDs with just 13 TDs.
To illustrate that last point:

2014: 37 pass TD, 16 rush TD
2015: 13 pass TD, 8 rush TD

Rushing TD as a % of Total TD
2014: 30.2
2015: 38.0

The lack of a passing threat has really killed us in the red zone. This year we have 13 total touchdown passes, and last year we had 13 TD passes on plays from inside the 10-yard line alone.

Oh, please God no. This would be the worst case scenario for next year.

Oh God no at bringing back all three or bringing back McFadden? I'd likely go McFadden/Rookie/Dunbar with Turbin being the odd man out, but I don't think there is a chance McFadden is not back next year

It is very foolish to think Jerry or Garrett will sit a player just to save money. You guys act like this is the first time players ever had incentive milestones within reach at the end of a non-playoff season. Jerry and the FO have no history of trying to screw players over and even if they tried now, the NFLPA would be all over them (rightfully so) and would win in arbitration or court later because it would be so obvious. Not to mention the fact that doing so would severely limit or impact future free agent signings who would not sign contracts with the Cowboys that include incentive milestones.

Fans never seem to understand that a few hundred thousand means nothing to Jerry and the Cowboys except how it affects the salary cap. To most of us, $300k would be a huge amount, but to Jerry, it's like $3k in normal people money. Thinking he would risk the ire of the NFLPA and media attacks, and negatively impact future free agent signings over such a small amount is ridiculous.

Obviously.

After such problems at RB from Murray to Randle to Dunbar to the turnstyle of all the waiver wire signings..

Jerrah will be delighted to write the check to somebody who earned it and made Jerrah look good.

Saved me the time to respond. Thanks. :)

What's wrong with Turbin coming in to compete? He looks like a good one cut back with some power. I don't see anything slippery about him although I've not seen as much as I'd like but he hits the hole fast and hard. I see him much like the back McFadden is. McFadden is 28 and Turbin is 26.

If McFadden reaches 1,000 yards rushing this season, he'll receive a $300,000 bonus as part of his two-year contract.

I have thought that DMAC was our best RB all year long. He's earned his money. Further, I think he deserves a shot at being the lead runner next year. I like him a lot and perhaps he's just now ready to tap that amazing potential he entered the league with.

ALL OF THAT SAID, it would be just this side of insane not to pick up a big-time RB in the first couple of rounds to make DMAC earn that starting spot. As much as I've liked what he's done, if he's given a starting spot next year without earning it, that is a colossal mistake. You'd have all your eggs in one basket yet again. Similar mistake to the one we made at QB. No thanks.
