News: DMN: Tony Romo’s successor? QBs the Cowboys could target in the NFL Draft

People have been trying to replace Romo for years. However, I do think this year is as good a year as any to look hard at some future replacements.

yea, it can't hurt to draft someone to kick the tires, but even then no guarantee anything happens once we get them on the team. the A&M qb we tried, mcgee? mcnugget? mchashtag? that fell a tad short. so while there may not be "primo" talent in the 1st round, it just means our scouts have to work harder via FA, and the draft, to find someone.

If Colt was that bad, we'd have had the number one seed in the playoffs this past season.......Just saying!!!

Colt is not bad but he is limited, Colt has the head to play the game he lacks the arm. In situations where you can keep him in short down and distance he can be very good but he struggle overcoming longer situations. In the game Dallas had with Washington and lost Washington was able to run the ball with Morris and Helu, in doing that Colt was never in a situation where he was looking at many 2nd or 3rd and longs. I was a big fan of Colt at UT but at this level I think he has some weakness that hurt him.

I Understand, and I was being a bit facetious. You don't have to have a cannon arm to win in this league; in some instances, such as their game with us, you only have to be good enough not to lose the game. If he was as bad as some paint him on here, then we would have had a great chance for that victory.

You are don't have to have a cannon for an arm to win however you must be able to make all the throws if you expect to win on a consistent basis, when a defense knows you are limited it can become a big problem for a QB. I like Colt and I think he can be a guy who can come into a game situation and help his team but as a full time starter I think Colt will struggle.

this is not about winning 1 or 2 games in a season
