A lot of my Bronco friends are not as positive towards Romo being there as some Cowboys fans are.

LOL at all these suggestions that we're going to get a prime pick or player (i.e. Chris Harris) for a 37 year old injury prone QB. We'll be lucky to swing an overpriced veteran that another team is trying to unload, or a mid to late round selection.

They ended up at the same place during the offseason?

Book it. Trade's done.

Exactly, the just HAPPENED to end up together in a different city spending an entire day together. There will also be NFL events where Jerry and Stephen Jones will be with Elway for "unofficial" discussions about the subject. The exact terms may not be in place, but you can bet the framework is unless Jerry is shopping the deal.

Denver will pounce on Romo if he is released. Elway knows that they are probably at the top of his list and won't let any draft picks go. It would take a couple other teams getting involved to get us something for him and Denver might balk and make a trade.
Tony stays on the roster until we get well compensated - (should be) end of story.

Romo is not going to be released. Jerry doesn't have to release him and definately won't give him away for nothing.

You're right. Let's give Mark Sanchez #12, resign Joe Randle and give him #22, and hey, give Tyrone Crawford #74. They're just numbers. Good god.

The issue was him wearing his number on another team. So two teams need to hold 9 in reserve because of Romo?

Sister, please

Jerry's grandson just won a state championship under Romo's tutelage. He's like family. Jerry will do whatever Romo asks him to do.

Elway loves my QB...that's no secret in NFL circles. He also won't pay too much for him via trade or salary. John Fox loves my QB too but again...the Bears won't over spend either. If the Jones family does what I think and releases Romo, I'll be interested to see how things play out.

Your implication was that numbers don't matter. They do. "It's just a number. Good god. " is a huge blanket statement. My preference of seeing Tony wear #9 in another jersey isn't crazy. And #9 wouldn't be reserved in Denver, anyone can use it. Don't know why it bothered you so much that I think Romo should go the Joe Montana route when he goes to another club and get a new number. It's not like Romo had had that number since high school. He's switched numbers at each spot he's been at. Same with Montana.

Yes. Long time, rich elite QBs often become position coaches.

He's earned millions of dollars. Is set for life. Yet now he's gonna take a job that means little time to enjoy his family?

Right.

You can mock all you want but that's where he'd start and only here if Wilson decides to leave or retire. He wouldn't stay a position coach forever. He has to learn to be a coach esp if he wants to migrate to the next position which is OC. He has enough money to do whatever he wants to do. If he wants to coach then why not. Otherwise he can migrate to the booth. Or go into politics, etc.

You have a habit of mocking people. That's member to member. I'd consider finding another way to get your point across..

Maybe the Bears will swap 1st rounders for Romo?
