Afraid that golf, while harmless, is well on it's way to being a "distraction".

It's a totally media - generated issue that really has no bearing on reality but maybe Romo should think of "cutting" it before it tears this team and message board apart.

Amen theebs. Its crazy that Romo has a huge target on his head for criticism and its usually a false explanation of his poor play (distractions; golf, girlfriend, cabo). This is truely unjust. The only variable to balance out this equation is simply W's late in the year. No ones opinion is worth crap when it comes to his private life....let him be! You're not paying his salary.

But he has become an easy target because of a number of the reasons; when Romo makes a mistake its pretty big and of course amplified by the hyper media....(I mean blooper worthy mistakes on the field) and perhaps questionable activities off the field which is none of my business but to others a reason for any poor play he has.

There are no excuses for his mistakes that he's made on the field....I mean he's not playing against children out there....so I don't understand why the media tries to explain these short commings on the field to some off the field activities.

Romo's story is a popular one (a relative nobody to star quarterback of America's team......he was given the keys to the Ferrari) but also a double edge sword.....it's good for his endorsements and face time but also popular enough to be hated....some jealousy and some just an easy target....so someone can have their blogged filled with controversy so it keeps people glued to there meaningless opinions.

Flat out Romo sells.....whether its mags, shirts, jerseys, tickets, controversy, hatred, I hope he's getting royalties :)

I dont know how it is in other cities but man I am amazed at some of our fans and media......hyenas they are.

Romo's success will be attributed to team cohesion not a non stop, eat, crap, sleep football attitude that the media will eat up. I honestly do believe that he's had a good career so far and needs to twik somethings which he will because he is a gym rat.

Does anyone have the hours logged that he threw the ball around with roy during off season....or work on his drop back staying on his toes during the off season...does anyone have that calculated....if so compare that to what time he spends on the green....for cowboys sakes leave this guy alone. He will win just wait...It's going to be worth the wait.

What if Romo starts forcing balls to Austin on Sunday so he'll play 18 with him on Monday?

What if Romo has a sit down with Jim Nantz and throws his caddy under the bus? What effect will that have on Witten trusting him? And the rest of the team?

What if the team worries more about Romo's birdies and forgets how to block and tackle?

What about the circus-like atmosphere created by the GolfChannel?

What if Johnny Miller breaks the story that Romo improved his lie without penalty?

This could ruin the whole season...

I always thought that Romo playing in these highly competitive golf tournaments and playing golf in general was a good thing. Golf is a very difficult game and you have to maintain emotional control and perform under pressure and that pressure is amplified when competing in events such as the US Open.

It seems to me this is a good thing to put yourself in as many high pressure situations as possible so that the nerves and pressure don't ovewhelm you when you need to come through in important football game situations.

The only thing that mystifies me about Romo to this day is his reaction after Folk kicked the field goal to take us into overtime last year against Arizona. I cant get the image of Romo sitting on the bench looking completely disinterested and almost irritated that he had to go back on the field.

I'd love to ask him what was going through his mind at that moment. I was jumping around the room going berzerk, he looked like he was waiting in line at the DMV

LOL ya

Warren Sapp can't play golf. His knuckles hit the ground on his downswing.

Warren Sapp is a mouth breathing moron, and so is anyone who agrees with him. I will purposely not read the thread so as not to single anyone out.

I stand by my thread about Romo and golf. It is irrefutable. Oh and one more thing, I would say this to Warren Sapp's face any time, anywhere, with no fear.
You must have missed my post then but it sounded like you pretty much copied and pasted it. :)

Love me some, Hos.

BTW, I got your back.
