sometimes you get used to what you have and you start accepting that as the standard, or sub standard in this case.
Strange how a fan base buys into this acceptance, only because its all they have seen.

Church was stable,, that's the best analogy I can come up with.

I don't see it happening. I think we fill that hole in free agency because of cost. Defensive ends and corners are premium positions, while the cost of an adequate safety is not prohibitive. I think we're more likely to try to address corner and/or DE in the draft than safety.

Now, I'd love for us to go get one of the FA safeties considered better than Church, but I think the team will try to bring him back because he'll cost less than an Eric Berry or Tony Jefferson. If the bidding gets too high on Church, whose considered fourth-best in this class of FA safeties, I wouldn't be surprised to see Dallas turn its attention to JJ Wilcox.

He's upgradable, but at a price I don't think Dallas will be willing to pay. Most sites I've looked at only have three safeties above him in free agency, so it's either pay more for one of them or bring back Church.

I'd grab Berry if KC lets him test the waters or Arizona's Jefferson, but that doesn't seem to be the way Dallas rolls in FA anymore. Those two will be gone in the first week and we don't come out to play then anymore.
